I've never taken an uber but will tonight. What's the etiquette?

Only the tip of your penis.
Problem is, those bitches are never satisfied

Not sure if there is an etiquette per se, but id imagine tipping them a few bucks. Maybe say a five.

I have once because the driver was an older and knew so much about the area he was driving too, I enjoyed myself. He could talk about what happened on every street for like 20 blocks.

I do.
I live in a place where it's not worth the cost and hassle to have a car; public transportation is king, or you can just use your legs or a rideshare.
I walk to work but get off in the early morning hours and don't feel comfortable walking home by myself at that time...regardless of how close it is.
I Uber home 3-4 times a week, on average. I tip them because I only live about 7 blocks from my work and the fee to pick me up is never very much...I appreciate that the drivers still pick me up in spite of that fact and I want to make it worth their while.
Plus, it's still cheaper than gas, insurance and registration from when I used to have a car.

I don't think it is required (or expected), but if someone does a good job for me, I always give them a bit extra as a show of appreciation.

frick no and, before the OT bullshite, let me tell you why. I was a rider from day one and the company was doing fine. Now, all of a sudden, the drivers need more? frick that. They made me a deal and I took it. There is no re negotiations now.

Thanks guys. Of course I'll give a few bucks but just wondered if there is a do or not do.

Can't you just tip on the app, instead of handing the driver cash? Does it make a difference to the driver if you tip in cash or on the app after the ride is over?

Don't say this. That's like step 4 to always having to tip. Don't feel obligated. If the driver is cool, makes you laugh, is smoking hot, etc, then tip. If it's a normal ride, don't. Pretty soon these average drivers with no credentials will expect 25% like useless college students who wait tables do.

$2 isn’t breaking your bank. Uber is probably fricking the driver around anyway. If you get there safe, give the $2

I do, but not because there's any "etiquette" involved. It's because usually I'm expensing the trip anyway.
