Having a space station launched in 73 must seem inconceivable as well.

I don’t have any solid reason to believe they didn’t, but to your comment it might be pointed out that the space station is about 240 miles from Earth, while the moon is about 240,000. For what it’s worth, which is possibly even nothing. If going to the moon is possible, that surely is, amirite?

Space may be the final frontier but it’s made in a Hollywood basement.

I love these threads. There’s always govt bootlickers calling people idiots for pointing out gross inaccuracies.

It’s not that hard to cover up. Keep it tight….pay them money…. And threaten to kill their family if they talk.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is either not very bright or incredibly naïve.

Yes, incredibly possible. You can thank the good people at McDonnell Douglas for a lot of that, as the lunar astronauts rode on top of the Saturn iv-b most of their 230k mile trip. Skylab literally was a retrofitted s-ivb. Pretty damn neat if you ask me, but my grandpa was chief engineer of the iv-b, so I may be biased af here

I think some Aggies tried several years ago. When asked how they would avoid burning up they proudly explained that’s why they were going at night!

Buzz is 93, but I still don’t think I could take him.

Of course we did. You’d have to be completely an idiot to think otherwise. I mean you can see the damn footprints on the lunar surveyor images.

I was wondering recently why we haven’t been back. At least just for research. My guess is that there isn’t a lot of financial reason to go back.

I mean you can’t just get there in a Prius. The SLS is pretty big.

A lot of people are just ignorant to the fact that we spent ten years working on this problem. Do they think the official story is we built a rocket, called it Apollo 11, shot it at the moon, called it a day, and never went back?

I ask people about things like the Ranger program and their eyes glaze over because they’ve never heard of it.

Did you hit em with “Pop quiz, hot shot; tell me about the Ranger Program”?

That exact phrasing but I ask about the Lunokhod program.

Look at this thing. Zoom in, it’s paper and tin foil. You gotta be a frickin retard to believe they landed this thing on the moon while it was hurtling through space, then took off in it, then navigated it back to earth.

NASA burned Gus Grissom and his crew alive for calling them out. Look up “Gus Grissom lemon.” So if you’re wondering how people could keep a secret, that’s how.
