This. Any "adult" that takes off for a birthday needs to grow up.

You prolly know this but for the general edification, that was his first post-Beatles release.

Wonderful lyrics for an under 30 to conjure up.

Interesting execution-wise too.

This may sound morbid, but while my birthday was exciting when I was kid, nowadays, it just feels like a reminder that I haven't reached the standards that I expected of myself by this time in my life.

A little depressing, I know, but it's true.

It's one of the first days I plan off. I have a good bit of PTO I have to plan far in advance, and I always figure why would I want to be potentially miserable on my birthday?

Only celebrate because the kids enjoy it. Just another day for anything else.

birthdays have always been a big deal to my daughter(no pics,) she's an adult, we always take off a few days around her birthday and take her somewhere, it's not like she would be devastated if we didn't, it's just that we can, she enjoys it, so we make a little celebration out of it, she's an awesome young woman

I take off in my birthday purely for a relaxation day. Not celebrating, just a good excuse to relax without anyone being able to bitch about it.

Depends what day of the week it is, if we are celebrating or not, what is going on at work

More importantly, the day after I do. Can't really work after a birthday bender in a hotel room with a hooker.

Our birthdays are on the calendar and we get told to go away and stop working (we are remote), but I’m not letting something important go ignored for that. So it depends.
