Code of Hammurabi, "Eye for an eye". I must say I am all for it. You beat, you get beat. You rape, you get raped. You steal, you lose something.

I just saw the thread where the meth head chocked out his wife and daughter, and it got me thinking, man they should be allowed to beat his arse.

Yeah, I suppose. I really don't run into any trouble in my life and like it drama-free, but I do like the "I don't get mad, I get even" motto

There's a reason the world has moved on from that.

But I also think that POS exec from lady of the lake hospital who embezzled should be thrown in with the thugs. Hell can't come soon enough.

New Testament revision...

But in Matthew (5:38-42) in the New Testament, Jesus repudiates even that notion. "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away."

Yes I do. Very much so. Especially when it involves something someone does to me.. And I don't react immediately. I like to sit back and wait for that perfect opportunity to strike. Just when they don't see it coming. Sometimes they might not even know it was me..

Putting fear of actual repercussions would do the world some good.

I’m good with eye for an eye for a while. Bring back public hangings as well. Stop life sentences and just kill them instead

In theory, it makes sense... but in practice? Not so much.

Though, it would help a lot with the whole "life in prison for murderers" monetary drain on the economy.

Old Testament people are probably all for that. People that believe in Jesus have to denounce it.

Are you a hacker? That's the only thing I can imagine you doing. Or paying someone to do your dirty.

I think technology is very close to a point (if it's not there already) where in some cases we can remove any doubt of a person's guilt.

If someone commits a violent crime, and a jury of your peers, supplemented with technology, finds that person guilty of said crime, beyond any reasonable doubt, then that person should be swiftly executed.

I don't care much for the theatrics either. Don't waste any more time or resources on it than absolutely necessary. Have the bailiff take the convicted out back and shoot them until they're dead. Let the worms do the rest.
