I am always early- at least by 15 min. to social stuff.
When I’m working at the hospital I like to be there at least a half hour early in case sh1t’s already hitting the fan and I can jump in with night shift and help out.

r those who are consistently late, why are you?
I don’t wait. If you aren’t there. I just start the deal

Myself solo, typically on time. Anything including my girlfriend we will be at least 30 mins late.

If I’m on time, I’m late.

On time. Most people call it ten minutes early, but that’s on time.

Slightly early to most events. Only late if I have to wait on another has to join me who is late and subsequently makes me late.

I have a friend who lacks the "on time" gene. He is always fricking late to the point it's expected. And he was a Marine so I have no idea how that worked when he was in. One would think they would have beat that out of him.

Did she ever share thoughts with you on this topic? I've heard they struggle estimating how long things take.
Yes, I asked her about it when I was an adult. She told me that she used to get punished for being late when she was a kid, so when she grew up, she decided she would take as long as she wanted to get ready. I felt sorry for Dad because he was an "early is on time" person.

Depends what I’m going to

I can show up anytime I want for work as long as I get my job done. Socially: on time or a few minutes early. Don’t see the point in sitting around and wasting time just to be early

If I'm late, it absolutely is because my wife waited too long to begin her "getting ready" process (shower, makeup, dressing, etc). We've had many "discussions" about it, with mixed results.

Early. My folks thought me that if you aren’t twenty minutes early. You are late.
How are you going to change a flat and still make an appointment on time ?
Most people now can’t or won’t fix their own tire. They get on their sailfoam and call someone else. Then take the day off.
When I rented ministorages at our family facility I would tell people I’ll be ten minutes early ( i was twenty minutes early) and I would wait ten minutes past appointed time.

Early. Always early. I can not stand to be late for anything. Even running in time makes me anxious.

Depends what it is honestly. I try to be on time. I will definitely be on time for important things. My team deals with me being late for 1:1s when I’m running from back to back meetings.

Hard on time. If I say 8:00 than I will be there at 8:00. When I was in the military it used to be 15 mins is on time, on time is late, and if your are late don't bother showing up. I broke myself of that non sense when I got out.

5 minutes early at minimum for in person, unless it’s a work related Zoom meeting. Then exactly and only exactly at meeting start time.
