I take all they pay me for, plus to the point they give me a day off for punishment.

It's a special kind of attention-seeking behavior disorder to take pleasure in trolling anonymously on the internet.

You think you sound intelligent and hard-working, but in reality you are perceived as immature and unwise.

Have some respect for yourself.

This is the dumbest bunch of crap I’ve ever read.

It’s accrued and earned. Take it when you want it as long as it doesn’t impact any deliverables.

Yes. It’s a benefit. Take advantage of it.

I take very little until I've been somewhere long enough to hit the rollover cap. Then I take every, single, hour.

My last employer had PTO AND leave. Don't ask me why.

I always used my leave (2-3 weeks worth per year) and let my PTO stay close to the max rollover (400 hours). I only used whatever PTO would not carry over (usually 5-7 days).

When I left, I got 5 paychecks worth of PTO.

This is why companies are moving to “unlimited time off”.

What’s he going to do, sit at home, eat bon bons, and watch General Hospital?

If that is what he wants to do. No way in hell I would ever loose PTO because it’s expiring.

Who gives a shite as long as long as it doesn't affect his work overall?

IDGAF if it "affects his work". It's part of your compensation package, they give it to you to use it. It is managements job to cover your time off that they gave you!

I had 43 days I had to take or loose. We formerly were allowed to carry over 20 days a year, they reduced it to 10 this year. I have taken 3 trips, have 2 weeks off at Christmas, 3 days at Thanksgiving, and beginning in November, I took off the remaining Fridays except for 1. I have been with company for 30 years.
