I took it when I was younger then maxed it out just before retiring and was it was paid out when I left shortly thereafter.

I cataloged your posts on this thread. As for the “work” you claim you’ve done today, it’s embarrassing you think anyone believes any of it.
You’re completely full of shite and everyone sees it.
Now answer the question you keep avoiding…

Let me ask you this, let’s say that guy didn’t come and ask for a day off. Instead, he came in this morning like it was a normal work day, but instead of doing anything, you discover he spent the entire day on an internet message board, only pausing long enough to take a two and a half hour lunch.
What would you do to him?

I can understand it if you’re a poor like a plant operator or some salaried corporate shill. My time is money and I like those 20-30K monthly checks.

An EARNED benefit is just that.
If it was not intended to be used, why did they set it as an expectation?
Stop watching how another employee uses this benefit as this is none of your business.

Our company moved directors and above to what we call FTO “free time off” / unlimited before the company switched me over I got 20 days a year. Made it clear I would be taking off that amount going forward.
I like it b/c it’s flexible and don’t have to worry about taking 1/2 day for doctor are if we are going out of town.
Only downside is if I ever leave are when I retire I won’t have bank led up time for a payout!

Not as much as i respect people who actually clock out and leave at quitting time instead of pretending theyre staying late because " they care".

What is it about a certain group of people that expect to be off on their birthday?

Use your personal days and poop on company time.

You can work hard and take you PAID TIME OFF.
Working efficient is a far superior skill to always being in the fricking office.

Do you think Mingo's clients know they pay him to sit on tiger droppings all day and just take their money?

No one is paying you for anything, bud. You're an arse hat. Probably should be working, no need to take off to sit on the couch and eat bon bons all weekend

And is the fellar you're so adamantly railing about not getting the job done? You're indicating your clients really don't care how you spend your time as long as the job gets done.
Is this employee getting it done? Does one day matter in that context?
Like I said before if he's a bum and this day off is hurting the end result, then you should have squashed it. Otherwise, why does this matter so much?

Will be maxed out in January. Sometimes I like to take PTO on a random Wednesday just to go to the gym and get in a round of golf while everyone is at work
