So what you’re saying is you haven’t been to a restaurant since maybe 2016?

Now they give you a QR code to their online menu.

Every single restaurant I've been to that uses the QR code menu, also has the option of a physical menu if you request one.
I went to PF Chang's a couple months ago and they brought me a menu for alcoholic drinks and the food menu was QR code. The alcohol menu said request a print copy of food menu if you prefer. I did but my server didn't prefer and appeared put out by the request. I said thanks anyway and politely proceeded to leave. She followed me halfway to the door loudly saying that it was a corporate thing and she doesn't make the rules. I never replied and just left. I have a feeling that it may have just been my server that day, but I have not returned since to find out.

Plenty of restaurants in the south have prices cheaper than that, I cant speak for the north. I’m not referring to craft beer, but if a draft miller light is more than $6 or a single vodka soda/cran is more than $15 I’m out. Craft beer and specialty cocktails are whatever, I don’t buy those.

Stopped at a WAFFLE HOUSE for the first time in a good while.
Their menus used to be the size of a place mat. These were half that size with lots of items missing.

Restaurants cannot even get the items to execute those menus let along find employees to cook it for you. On top of that, why spend thousands of dollars a year on menus when you can just use your $1k+ piece of electronic jewelry?

Now, post “Covid”, the best we can get is a one page menu with 10 items the restaurant “specializes” in
If you need a restaurant to give you a 30 pg menu, its not a good restaurant.

Anytime there is a newish restaurant with a huge menu, I know it won't last long.

No. I don't remember this. Every restaurant I go has the same menu. Like someone said earlier Cheesecake Factory is the only place that had a thick menu. I guess OP must be talking about Bob Evans or Applebees.

What part of town? If you don't mind driving across the city some of my favorites:
Mayan Cafe
La Bodeguita de Mima (will need reservations)
Wild Eggs (Breakfast/Brunch)
Con Huevos (Also Breakfast/Brunch)
Oskars Slider Bar
ROC Italian
Louisville Cream (Ice Cream Shop but Delicious)
Slight hijack, but are you very familiar with restaurants in Lexington? We did the Bourbon Trail in May and went to Lexington for a day. We were downtown and walked up to some kind of Hispanic restaurant on a corner that was incredible. It was more of a casual type place but I'm pretty sure the chef was a James Beard finalist. Been trying to remember the name to send some friends who are going in a few weeks

If your restaurant beverages are miller lite and a vodka soda with cranberry, that speaks volumes. Like, the volumes that exist within a Cheesecake Factory menu.
