I don't necessarily mean groundshaking bass.

In my case, I replaced everything with hertz components, baffles, soundstream amps, and significant amounts of sound deadener.

A cheso upgrade to improve sound.

The best is when some idiot next to me has so much bass that my car starts shaking

Nope, podcasts sound the same on any speakers. Music is for kids on rims.

Not anymore. Unless you're buying a pos, a stereo upgrade should be available

Nah, don’t keep them long enough for it to pay off.

Teh first 3 vehicles I ever owned I did some kind of sound mods to all, varying from the works (new speakers/amp/subs) to just getting a louder speaker.

Then I became an adult and realized wasting money on something like that was ridiculous so I have not done anything to recent vehicles.

No, but I would like to. My truck audio sounds like shite. Especially when I use my audio jack.

Is this coming back? This was all the rage in high school. Then I left for college and the fad seemed to die. Now, I feel like I'm hearing it again.

I did back in the day.

For me at least, audio in the car is now good enough that I don't feel the need to mess with it.

I put my speakers on the OUTSIDE of my car. I thought people at red lights would enjoy it but I mostly get middle fingers all day.

No. The factory system is adequate for listening to music like an adult.
