As someone has mentioned every “adult” should have at least read “Meditations” once. A well bounded copy with a $50.00 bill tucked into the last page makes for a great graduation gift for a favorite nephew.
Not amongst Alabama folk.

The same $50 with “Nevr shar our secrats” written on it is more appropriate.

My take is that the act and discipline of striving for excellence and the pride you take in your work is the reward. The other rewards like money, power, praise, are to be enjoyed for whatever time they are yours to enjoy. But you realize that everything changes like the seasons. All of us and everything we have came from the elements via God (the gods to MA) or the universe, and just like the elements changed to form them, they will change back and then be recycled again to form something or someone else. It’s about acceptance of the way things are.

I'm not sure I would say I live a stoic lifestyle, but I very much have a stoic philosophy/worldview.

Lot of one word answers, no emotion, and just generally hard to read. I’d almost rather be around someone that wears their emotion on their sleeve.

They often overlap. Stocism doesn't prevent you from being a Christian. It's a virtue and value based philosophy in how to live day to day. If you're living virtuous according to the 4 virtues, then you're also most likely leading a good Christian life, as well.

Since I don’t have time to type an essay on my phone and don’t want merely to link someone else’s work, let’s got Socratic: “What is the chief end of the stoic man?”

Stoics 2000 years ago were depriving themselves of society and possessions to develop the self control the philosophy calls for.

I've pondered the same thing. I think its sort of similar to the baseball analogy of trying your hardest at every at bat but working hard not to let the results affect your attitude. Its just an at bat, there will be plenty more, and if your past at bats are bothering you then it will make you less effective in your future at bats. The "stoic" attitude as far as I understand it is just to be happy youre holding a bat and trying to hit a baseball at all.
