We just moved into our new house about 3 months ago and have still yet to meet anyone in our neighborhood. I've waved to the guy to my right when pulling out of my driveway, but never any introductions.

I'm tossed on if I should make an attempt or just leave it the way it is. I don't need any more friends, my weekends are too busy already, and I'd hate to have an overly nice neighbor try to push themselves into our lives.

What about you guys?

Yes. I always go meet my neighbors. My old place had a neighbor that gives me houston rockets tickets. Good guy

Coincidentally, I think I waved to your wife when I wasn't pulling out, no introductions were needed.

An introduction (to me) has a lot of upside and very little downside. I suppose they can become overly intrusive, but it's always nice to know who is around you.

For example, my neighbor is a car mechanic by trade and loves whisky. He has showed me more about cars in 2 years than I knew in the 33 before - and it's all done over Bourbon on the rocks....

I moved into a new house back in May and have met just about everyone on the damn street.. except for the guy that lives across the street. I wave when I see him but he doesn't wave back and has never made an effort to chat. He does, however, have a college-aged daughter who has the biggest arse I've ever seen. So I'd like to meat her

Yes I know most of the people that live within a few houses of ours. Some better than others.

Outside of an initial introduction, no. We have only lived here for about a month and a half though.

I know both neighbors on sides of me and one across the street.

Exchanged numbers with one of them in case we ever need anything or see something out of ordinary.

You have some issues, bud.

I only know the people next door, and its only because we have a chain link between our backyards fence and spend a lot of time outside so we got to know each other that way. They enjoy craft beer, so that sparked it.

Don't know anyone else because its either old people or people with young children. When you don't have kids, you don't naturally meet the people who live around you as easily.

Very well. We have a monthly neighborhood bunco group which is pretty cool. We also do an annual hayride for Halloween and a Christmas party. My neighborhood is great.

You sound like a pretty decent neighbor.

You don't need to be in your neighbors business. A courtesy wave at first viewing of the day, and in some subtle way let him or her know that as their neighbor you are watching their back.

Word got outmy wife is a vet so now everybody makes it a point to befriend us. Asking us to watch their pets etc. Lived here 2.5 years now. Before word got out, everybody minded their own business.

No. I’m a bit introverted. Some people take it the wrong way but I’d rather just mind my own business and have people around me mind their own business. I wave to them but I really hate small talk.

For the most part, and most of them are just casual acquaintances. Daughter is good friends with the girl that lives behind us, and we've gotten to know her parents pretty well. And we just had people move in across the street and the dad is super chatty and always outside, so I talk to him pretty frequently. Kind of annoying actually, but not the end of the world.

I saw one neighbor at a restaurant recently and he acted like he had no idea who I was even though we've spoken numerous times and wave to each other when ever we see each other.
