I do BC myself on anything money related (invoicing, collections, releases), but never CC

My favorite is the older individuals and very insecure younger individuals who put every honorific, club, Order, and membership they have in their signature block. Certain attorneys are notorious for this: Order of Baristers, Million Dollar Advocates, Multi-Million Dollar Adgocate, Association for Justice, etc. And every honorific has an image so the bottom of every email looks like a collage.

I have a friend who has his emails printed out by staff, but he's 80 and owns pieces of oil wells around the world. He never responds but dictates to a sec for him. He has lived only in luxury hotels since his mid 20's.

I had a boss who would read an e-mail in his Inbox and then immediately move it to the Trash. The Trash was for emails that had been read, but not acted upon. Once an e-mail was acted upon, he would permanently delete it.
Boy was he pissed when we ran out of disk space on the Exchange server and had to empty everyone’s Deleted Items en-mass to get space back.
Also - anyone who sends me a read receipt... I decline them on purpose.

Some CEO's and the like used to have receipt requested but over the last few years that seems to no longer be a thing.
I haven't seen any emails with receipt request for at least 10 years

Our hospital recently got rid of this even being an option thankfully. Just looks tacky.
Now everyone has a standardized signature with hospital logo, your name, title and extension

Everyone should list their preferred pronouns in their email signature.
HE/HIM

I've seen that. I work at a company that is super woke so I have to be careful.
We apparently have someone who is a them/they. Im just not sure how you'd address them. Back in Wisconsin it'd be "you's".

how else can you have a digital footprint to verify, and print if need be, to confirm messages were sent to all relevant people.
its a smart thing to do to CYA

Pull it from your sent folder.
If you absolutely feel the need to have two copies of an email you send, then BCC yourself.

I had a customer that was an older guy who I would receive an email from every couple of days. He would never start a new email. Ever. He would go back to our emails from a few days ago and hit reply.
This had to go on for close to a few years until he retired. Hundreds of emails all in one message

I noticed awhile back, my inbox contained a copy of my sent emails, have no idea why it started doing that. I hate it, make a mess of the inbox. Maybe I inadvertently selected cc.

I’m currently working as a gov’t contractor, and big group level emails are routinely sent to about 2500 people. Reply to all is frowned upon.

I accidentally fat fingered that at work a couple of years ago, you would have thought I'd blasted an email out with the launch codes for the day to everyone

I've seen sending it TO yourself and Bcc'ing a lot of folks if they're not part of the company, but not cc'ing yourself. That's sociopathy forming

Cant stand reply all.
Microsoft should make an "are you sure?" prompt every time you try to reply all.

I gave a smartass “reply to all” to an email in my first couple months there, not understanding that it was a government-source email with 2500 on the distribution. I was pulled into a face-to-face sitdown with quickness. Lesson learned.
