Does that make me an alcoholic?

I never fully appreciated how much alcohol is consumed on a daily basis by functioning members of our society.

But watching all these local grocery stores and places like Costco repeatedly restock and enlarge their wine section has convinced me. Every time I go in a store - half the customers are buying multiple bottles of wine or cases of beer.

I've been doing sober (one drunk 2016)-17-18-19. Lets just say that one drunk in 2016 was a doozy.

It is pretty crazy considering marijuana is illegal.

People that HAVE to have alcohol are just pathetic to me.

People that bitch that sports are less enjoyable without alcohol are just as pathetic to me.

I have a drink when I feel like it and I don't when I don't.

I may average a drink a month.

Idk if Joe Rogan started it but he's popularized it. No drugs or alcohol of any kind for the whole month. On top of this, Joe makes it a very fitness-oriented month as well.

I dont participate but I don't do much drinking these days anyway.

I am, and cut the energy drinks.

I went from drinking every other weekend to twice a week. Went from maybe an energy drink once a month, to drinking them maybe 3 times a week.

Saving some money and resetting. I look to totally cut the energy drinks out.

I like "be an adult" instead of this mickey mouse bullshite.

the only people who do this are alcoholics who want to prove they aren't alcoholics.

Real addicts would never put a time limit on sobriety. They either want to get clean forever or they want to drown in a bottle while Elizabeth Shue watches them slap their meat on some bed sheets.

I do it unintentionally. I quit drinking a couple of years ago. Back in the day, no way I go the whole of October with no booze.

I'm doing it right now. Last year it completely changed how much and how I drink. I was getting a pretty good buzz almost every night and drunk on the weekends. After the month was up I went back to drinking but only here and there on the weekends. It broke the habit I guess. It also shows you how much money you can save. The booze isn't that expensive but all the stuff I go do that involves drinking is. I only watch TV or get on social media while I was drinking. I've cut that almost completely out as well just as a side effect.

My plan is to slowly quit drinking. I'm doing sober October this year. next year will be sober November. the year after will be sober December. I'll get used to being sober for each month and then I will quit for good.
