One of my wife's nephews mows does our lawn, he used to hate doing it, but now he's bugging me to let him on one of the big tractors the big tractor . He's 14 in March, I'll probably teach him how to rake hay this summer.
We clean our own house.
I clean my own pool, but I do pay someone to open it and close it each year.

I pay some college kids $50 (actually I went to school with their dad) and we have a cleaning person that comes twice per month. I take care of the pool

I have a housekeeper who cleans every week or two. Lovely young woman. Very bright, energetic, and with a positive attitude. A blessing.

I'm more a DIY person also but I actually enjoy getting out and taking care of the lawn. Nice to work up a good sweat. We are on 2 acres with a fair number of trees and flower beds. For the most part I spray an herbicide to keep the beds weed and grass free. I can afford to have someone do it but I like doing it.
Now... if grass season overlapped too much with deer & duck season we would have a problem.

My house manager takes care of the employees and independent contractors.

How did you all find a good housekeeper?
A service like Maidpro or just word of mouth?

I have a 50 hour a week nanny, bi-monthly housekeeper, and a weekly lawn guy.

Yes, I have a pool guy, lawn guys, and a lady that cleans the house and cooks dinner mon-fri.
My wife and I spend our time working and enjoying life. We could do those things, but paying someone 1099 to do them reduces our taxable income so that we don't have as much that gets taxed at 35%.

Had a lawn guy, but now the teenage boy handles that.
Maid service for deep cleaning quarterly.

I have both.
I'm the opposite as you in that I think my time is better spent doing other things and it is worth it to me to pay to have someone do them.
No wrong answer, just differen't mindsets.

I have a housekeeper, I call her my girlfriend; and my landscaper is me and a John Deere with a shredder. I have 12 acres though so you probably don’t need the tractor.

Good for you. I love my child to no end. That's why I pay double (nearly triple) the costs of schools/daycares here in New Orleans to have a nanny instead. Otherwise, where would he be? Daycare getting the sniffles and shits. Nah...

I am looking into getting a housekeeper.

$80/visit every other week for a Latina to do floors, kitchen, 3 bathrooms. 2600 sq ft. ATL market. She already does another house in the neighborhood so we both got some discount if she can do both on same day.
It was my wife's decision. She started making good money and said frick it, not cleaning toilets anymore.
Have considered lawn care but honestly it's the only exercise I get and I do enjoy it except heat of summer.
I'm thinking of looking into a laundry service of some kind. There's a dry cleaner next to my kids daycare with a sign saying they do regular laundry. That would be cool.
A nanny has been talked about but he's doing very well in preschool, they already doing kindergarten ciriculum at age 3. Harvard bound.
