Do you give guests a tour of your house?

We had some folks over last night and they asked for a tour of the house. I had no problem with that.

I don't like being forced to go on a tour when I go see someone though. Your bedrooms are square and have a window? Cool! You have grill on your back porch? Awesome!

Is it expected that you have to go on a tour of any house you're visiting for the first time?

Nobody ever asked. You can see it all from the living room/kitchen/bedroom.

They're casing the joint. Make sure your doors and windows are locked.

I live in a studio apartment. They get the tour as soon as they walk in the door.

I finally broke down and bought myself a plasma tv. [camera pans out to show tiny screen attached to wall] Check it out. I actually hung this, on the wall, myself. Let me show you something: A lot of people in the room, you need more space [pushes the tv back an inch against the wall] Voila. Right into the wall.

When you come home from work next week and your house is missing a truck load of valuables, remember the grand tour you presented

Usually only if you’ve recently moved to a new house.. and then only if they ask to see it.

I just show them where the shitter is. They can discover the rest on their own if they want.

If they ask, yes.

Because of the off chance they may ask, my wife is a fricking lunatic cleaning when we have company coming over.

Yes, but only because we have a really small house, and showing guests where the guest bathroom is located pretty much constitutes a tour.

Depends on the guests/situation. When we bought our first house and threw a house warming with local family, yes we gave everyone a tour. When my family who lives far away first came to visit our new place we gave a tour...when my buddies first came over to drink/smoke cigars...no tour. welcome... the game is on..later, we're going out there to smoke..bathroom is that way.
