Flashing lights is a courtesy that everyone should use. How can you get a ticket for this? Just tell them you had electrical problems and you were testing the dash lights. I do flash my lights for a few miles and I love when others do it to. frick Collect and serve.
My cruise is always set between 7 and 10 miles over the speed limit on interstates. Im just going with the flow of traffic. Highways its 5mph over.

Two weeks ago, I drove on the Indian Turnpike Toll Road from Hugo, Oklahoma to McAlester. The distance is 67 miles from the two cities. Even though it is a toll road, I only saw three vehicles going in the same direction as I was traveling. The speed limit was 75 mph and I could have done 85 mph with no threat of huring myself or others.
The only problem I have with speeding is going mega fast. 100 mph plus. If you have dry pavement and are not drinking and driving, 75 or 80 mph should be the norm. obviously, if you drive in a rainstorm, everyone should limit their speed based on reaction time and visibility as well as slick roads. 60 mph on the Bonnie Carre spillway on a dry summer day is too damn slow. driving 110 is too fast. Should be subjective to a degree.

I do... Every day. I have nothing but respect for police officers. They are underpaid, usually understaffed, and under appreciated. However running radar at 7:30 in small crappy towns trying to collect taxes from the working people to pay for their new SUV police unit really bothers me...

Federal Judge Rules Drivers Allowed to Flash Headlights to Warn of Speed Traps
It should not be illegal in any state now. Federal Court in Missouri ruled that making it illegal to flash brights to warn of upcoming speed trap violates the First Amendment.

That was just a district court ruling, but a quick search shows that same conclusion to be the norm. I agree it should not be illegal because it is a generally accepted warning to slow down ahead (road obstructions, deer, etc)

No. Why help someone trying to get us all killed. You won't usually be stopped for 5 miles over.
To slow them down?

Absolutely. And I'm sure the police appreciate my assistance in slowing people down.
Agree. Isn't that the purpose of speed traps to begin with? Seems like a little free speech and a lot of public assistance to me.

Federal District Court. There could be a split, sure, but it's the rule of the land until there is a split. (To be fair, I haven't investigated whether there is a split because I don't care enough)

One guy did it to me a while ago and I thought it was so courteous.

Driving faster than the posted limit is not inherently dangerous unless road conditions are bad. People usually don't slow down enough when it rains.
But any halfway competent driver can do 10-15 above the limit in most situations perfectly safely. The problem is incompetent drivers who are only halfway paying attention, not how fast they are going.

No. If people would slow the frick down then they don't have to worry about the cops.
The correct answer is that if people would pay attention to their surroundings they wouldn't have to worry about cops. Or hitting another car for that matter.
If you are behind the wheel don't frick around and listen to the radio, much less spend time on the phone. You are driving a multiton vehicle.
If people would respect this simple reality, speeding would not be significant risk factor.
