I'll do it for at least couple miles. It seems to be a dying courtesy.

I flash my lights at cops to let them know another cop is ahead.

Yes, especially if it's a douche cop that's hiding along the side of the road behind a barrier, trees, etc.

As soon as I'm out of sight of the cop.
A couple miles seems like overkill though. Then you're looking around paranoid for a couple miles and by the time you actually get to the cop you probably figure he left and you're in the clear and sped back up already
