If you're speeding you deserve to get it in the anal cavity - especially in Baton Rouge.

BR has the slowest most frustrating drivers I've ever encountered. If you think speed is the problem in BR, then YOU are the problem.

Yes although not for miles. Maybe the next 1/2 mile or so. Cops exist not just to write tickets but also to deter people from speeding. I figure I'm just getting them to slow down sooner. I also do it if there is something dangerous they are about to encounter or someone is walking on that side of the road.

No. If people would slow the frick down then they don't have to worry about the cops.

Never have been able to understand violators rationalizing dangerous speeding?? Not new though. Same group that likely supports illegal immigration

Yes. I'm not aware of any Alabama law the forbids it. The cop might not agree, but I'll take my chances. In Tennessee, it's protected "free speach".

Dangerous speeding is very subjective. I've experienced a 45 MPH speed limit on a 4 lane highway with no intersections for miles. What's the justification behind that?

Not while I'm driving 60 mph down the road.

No. It's illegal in some states.

It oughta be illegal for frick head cops that reach their hand into the pockets of people trying to provide for their families by setting up bull shite speed traps.

To protect and serve. My arse.

Not justifying the "not needed 45" zone, we've all seen it. Bottom line...it's the law.

Go challenge the need for it at your county/et.al. level if you feel it is not justified.

Exactly.. Hence why I'll almost always flash my lights at oncoming drivers. I never do in construction zones/school zones. If they're speeding, in those cases, they deserve to be popped.

I actually had a state trooper flash his lights at me about a half mile before I passed a sheriff's deputy shooting radar. That was different.

But yes I do.

I respect when they're working to arrest thieves, murderers, rapists, vandals, and nuts. I don't respect when they're hiding out waiting to ticket drivers for speeding, which is a revenue generation activity, not a public service.

Yeah, well laws do not always equate to being rational or just, so I'll continue to voice my opinion through flashing my headlights and feel zero guilt about doing so.

There's a difference between reckless driving, which actually endangers people, and speeding tickets, which 99% of the time doesn't involve public safety and actually increases the level of danger by placing two cars on the shoulder or partially in traffic where they are presenting obstacles to oncoming traffic and or are adding to traffic delays/backups, which creates wrecks.

Someone doing 100 in heavy traffic, weaving in and out of lanes, is a public safety hazard and deserves a ticket.

Someone doing 85 on a clear day in light to nonexistent traffic going approximately the same speed as other cars on a level, four-lane divided highway is not a public safety hazard.

Similarly, someone who breaks the speed limit in order to pass a slow moving vehicle on a two-lane undivided roadway is not a public safety hazard, in fact, they're improving safety by getting it done as quickly as possible, and the vehicle going under the speed limit is the safety hazard, but the person passing will get a ticket if there is a cop running radar.
