I do. I was kinda surprised that others didn't feel the same way. they are providing a service and I feel I should reward them for it.

I reward the establishment with a magnificent golden shower.

If it is a place I stop regularly, like the Chevron on the way to work, no. But on road trips I always end up getting about $8 worth of drinks and snacks when we stop to pee.

Usually just mints or a coke or something. But yeah, I feel like I must do something to have earned the use of their facilities.

only 100% pure trash would use a gas station restroom without buying anything.

Depends.

Mom and Pop Gas Station = Yes
Big Corporate = No

But if I drop a big deuce, it might alter my stance.

It all depends on the situatio, if I just have to piss then I don't feel obligated, but I usually do. It just makes sense if you are on roadtrip to go ahead and buy drinks or snacks, etc when you stop to piss. Now if I drop a major dump then yes I feel obligated.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but I usually do.

That said, at a good, large place like a QT/RaceTrac where they practically invite you, I won't worry about it. Their objective is to get me to buy something while I stop in. If they do their job persuasively enough, I will.
