It depends on the size of the venue and the crowd...
If it's a bigger truck stop I don't mind because they most likely don't even notice.
If it's a tiny mom and pop store I feel bad if I don't even by a drink or candy

Unless I'm on a road trip, and it's between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM, yes. Then again, I might need some kind of caffeine during those hours.
Also, I piss all over the place so I usually feel bad enough to make a small purchase.

After driving a truck and seeing how high they price everything just for the simple fact that it's difficult to park a rig and shop elsewhere, I really couldn't care less for them.

No. I usually will pick up something else I need while there though, rarely will I just stop and piss. But it is not out of obligation, just convenience.
Best place to stop and use the public restroom is a hotel/motel lobby. Esp of you have to take a shite.
I can't recall ever dropping a deuce at a gas station, not even when I worked at one when I was 16. Even in school I wouldn't. High school, I would just leave and go home if I needed too. I was driving myself and my friends to school at 15 anyway.
