But I was never one of these loser dippers. You know the ones who do it in public, in a see through bottle, leave it sitting around for people to see.

I learned how to filter the tobacco with my teeth and swallow the juice... didn’t need a bottle or cup. Couldn’t hardly tell I had a dip in unless I had to talk.

I have not smoked a cigarette in 50 years. Sometimes I can close my eyes and perfectly taste how good a cigarette was.

20 times over the years, I have though, "I think I'll smoke one and see if they were as good as I remember.

Fun fact: eating pussy is the leading cause of cancer for men under 40.

Does that stop anyone? frick no.

I talked myself into not worrying about cancer, that the risk was low, etc. And it is, relatively speaking. It's better than smoking for sure.

But you're still a slave to it. "Life: it's the stuff that happens between cigarettes." Applies to dip too.

From then until now the smell or sight of someone else dipping makes me want to vomit. I think it is a revolting habit and wish someone would have forcefully told me early on how disgusting it was when I was actively doing it. Realizing how gross it is for other people (wife) is what helped me finally kick the habit.
This is how I felt after I quit. I was a 1 can a day person. Now I'm convinced if I dipped I would throw up.

I need to quit but I won’t. There’s honesty.

Quit 7 years ago and now I’m going on day one off of it after a 3 month bender with it. The stuff is delicious but also disgusting. Nicotine gum helps

I dipped in HS then started smoking in college. Averaged 2 packs a day for probably 12-13 years. Chantix was only way I quit. Occasionally after a big call at work like a fire or something I’ll bum a dip or a smoke. I miss morning cigarettes with coffee during winter months more than anything. The smell now bothers me, I can smell it all the way across a parking lot now. Feel bad I use to put people through that granted I was pretty courteous and always walked away to smoke but still.

Grew up with snuff and chew. Quit both cold turkey about 20 years ago. The smell of Copenhagen still makes my mouth water.

I quit cold turkey almost 22 years ago. Still want one almost every day. If I ever put another one in my mouth, I’ll never quit again.

Yes. Every time I see someone with chew, I think, "I want some."

Same as smoking too.

I’ve never been big into tobacco, just smoked the occasional cigar with friends celebrating something, but very occasionally I’ll be in the middle of a cup of coffee and have a strong craving.

If that can happen to me, no more than I’ve ever used it, I can only imagine how hard the struggle must be for those who were truly on the horse.

I had a bad Copenhagen addiction. I had leukoplakia and had a biopsy. I was put of medication to stop the cravings. Nothing worked at all. I quit for a year and still craved it every day. Finally, in 2003, I just quit. I prayed (checkmate atheist) and believe God Almighty delivered me from somehting I had no control over chemically and physically. I had the Jimmy legs for a few nights but never wanted another dip. It has now been 17 years and I have never craved it.

Started in highschool. Kicked it once for a couple years then came back with a vengeance. At least 2 rolls a week which was like 200 bucks a month. Found small spot on tongue and freaked. Cold turkey that day and never looked back. But I think about it EVERY SINGLE DAY.
