On the general maintenance, No because it takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to do it myself and I’d rather spend that time with my kids while they still like me.

I once worked at a bank in a small town, I learned that most of the people that looked like they had a lot of money didn't have any. The main reason they didn't have any money was they spent most of it trying to look like they had money.

I pay for cut, edge and blow in the front yard because it's the most important and the window of available time can be narrow, and it looks better with the guys doing it. I do everything else myself.

Very little of my money is in "the bank".

Regrettably yes.
I hate yard work and hope all my grass just dies.

But it has to die naturally. She’s on to the Roundup thing.

I do it all. Just put out 14 yards of mulch in the last week. Did 10 yards last Friday and finished up with 4 more yards I had delivered today. It cost me about $450 for the mulch. I had a quote from one company to do it was going to be $1400 dollars

I don’t do a damn thing. I lay in bed all day on weekends, only getting up to eat or use the bathroom. I pay other people to do all that crap. I’m just too lazy.

This was the 70s, CDs were paying double digits, most had never heard of mutual funds, and few put money in equities since the market had been basically flat for a decade, if you did want to invest in stocks you had to have a actual broker who in this case was at the bank.

I don't have time to maintain a big landscaped yard but I do my own grass cutting, trimming, and other general yard maintenance. It's the most exercise I get.

And a lot of people that don't look like they have much are quite wealthy. This is my grandfather to a tee

I don’t care who does what to their yard, but the baws that park an F250 and 16’ trailer in the middle of the street sorta pee me off.

Hell no!

I haven’t in over a decade. Once i got a big boy job, i swore i would never touch yard equipment again and haven’t.

I did that crap at my parents house when i was young and decided i would pay someone to do mine after having to do that

This. I did all the yard work when I was a kid, only son. Swore I'd never do it as an adult.

Plus I cut other people's yards for money as a kid.

I haven't mowed a yard since I was 19.

I'll plant a bush or pick up the yard a little. Cleaned up after some hurricanes. Hard work. That's it.

I do everything mow, fertilize, water.... But my yard also looks like shite most months I need to stop and ask the neighbors who have the nice green lawns in March that the hell they are doing.

I've been raking the leaves for the last 4 year, but frick that I'm paying someone next year.

First rule of being successful is to learn to delegate everything that someone else could do and to spend your time focused on what you do best.
