re: Do you agree with this mans stance on child support?

Child support should have more protections built into it instead of just handing over a check for 1500 a kid hoping it is spent on the child. Too many times exes use the money outside of it's intended use to support themselves. Recipients of child support wanting paper work signed by their ex to apply the child support as income to get a loan is a joke and should not be allowed.
They can come after a person for failing to pay child support with ease but ensuring the money is being spent for the benefit of the child is so much harder. If shelter, food and other essentials cannot be provided without the child support that is just a joke and the parent should not get custody and be subsidized by the parent providing support.

Should there be a time limit to how long the ex should fund her lifestyle?
I mean if they divorce when the kid is 5 and the mom was a sahm, should the ex pay support for the next 13 years while the wife works no or a minimal job? Is there an expectation in the system where the husband's payments decrease in a adequate time for her to get a job?
I'm genuinely asking as I'm fairly ignorant on the topic but have plenty of opinions.
So in the state of Texas, you can be re-evaluated every 3 years or if something life changing occurs.
I would personally say no. If the children are in school full time, I feel like the mother can work while the children are in school to help provide for her children. That being said, if they children aren't and daycare costs are greater than her working, child support should be provided or the father should pay for the daycare costs.
That being said, I'm pro father route. Being a mother I don't understand WHY women would keep their children away from their fathers (unless abuse, criminal etc). There is no reason why women should not give the same amount of time to their exs.
I am 100% for equal time. My children LOVE their time with their father. And I would never deny my children of that because I'm pissed off at their dad. Sadly I see this so much and its ridiculous. My ex WANTS to be a part of his children's lives. And I'm so grateful for that.

used to pay 5k/month to the ex, when I had the kids they would show up in rags, one time my youngest came over with two left shoes, I asked them where they got their clothes and they said their mother got them as hand me downs from the neighbors, where were all of the clothes that I would buy them? I asked, "mom throws them all away"

Kind of...but you have to be responsible if you're a real man.

I’ve been paying child support for the past 16 yrs @ $1000/mo. It was justified because he went to a Christian school and the tuition was rather high. But now he goes to a public high school I still have to pay the same amount. bullshite If you ask me! Then recently I was on disability, for 3 mos, so I couldn’t pay support. She bitched about how she had to get help from her dad in order to pay bills! Well bitch, what are you going to do in 2 years when I’m done paying? And let it be known I have my son 3-4 days out of the week.

If you have him 3-4 days out of the week, you are getting screwed. Why not take her back to court?
But then again, you just called the mother of your child a bitch, so there's that.

would cost the better part of a years cs that he's paying and would be a roll of the dice as to whether he would be successful in getting a reduction

Child support should pay for the child's expenses depending on their age and activities.
For example, I divorced my ex husband. We both pay for child care and school.
Its 50/50. We both make the same amount of money and its all going towards the children.
I do feel differently if the mother is a stay at home mom in an abusive relationship that she can't get out of though.
The problem is that isn't the norm. At least amongst the divorcees I know.
If you graduate with a general studies degree with a concentration in marketing then you cannot blame your husband because you are a stay at home mom. That actually makes financial sense. Now if you graduated from Law School and decided to be a stay at home mom because of husband then I think there is an argument there that a career was ruined.

So he’s saying to stay in a relationship when your partner is miserable despite doing everything in your power to make things better?

He has 3 years left @ 36K. Its just going to cost mediation (not full fledged court). I would say at the most 5-10K. That's 26K left over.
Chances are he's going to win, as long as his proof lines up with what he said about having the child for 3-4 days a week etc.
But then again, this is Texas I'm talking about, so what do I know.

Abusive relationship sure
Stay at home, I disagree, if she has no vocational skills then that’s her fault

agree that there should be a system of checks and balances to assure that child support goes to the actual financial needs of the children because that rarely seems to be the reality
Yeah they spend it on new dicks, booze and smokes.
The child wears rags and sometimes doesn't eat.

Where are you guys finding these women? I couldn't imagine my children being in that situation.

guess what I was trying to say is, I understand why a stay at home mom would need child support to help support her new life. She doesn't have a job (Maybe hasn't had one in years) , needs to pay for daycare, rent etc.
I know everyone has diff situations, but when I was younger I worked for an agency that helped get women jobs that had been out of the work force raising children. Most of them just stop showing up, or complain about getting less in support now and want you to falsify how many hours they work.

Your children should cost what they cost, whether you are married or not.
You should support your children, but you should not be paying substantially more for food, clothes, etc., than if they were living with you. If you are then, you're supporting the woman, and not the kids.
Hypothetically, if a kid costs a married couple $1,000 per month to raise, and they divorce and the man has custody 1/3 of the time, then he should be paying about $666 per month.
