So Blake Griffin who probably makes near $5mil/month as the Father can go on being filthy rich living in a mansion
Yes. He earns that 5MM. It's his

but should give the mother of his kids only enough to raise them
Sounds reasonable.

the kids should just live a lower income life if the Mom doesn't get a good job?
Kids do it every day.

Where you and I disagree is that you think that it is fair that Daddy gets to live a life of luxury while the kid lives a low income life because the court gives Mom custody, and she may be a piece of shite who can't hold down a job, or maybe she's not even a piece of shite, she just works hard but doesn't make much money.

The kid deserves a certain lifestyle.
So if they have a pool, full basket ball court, Xboxes, TVs, bikes, go karts, etc. etc. at Dad's house, then there is some grave injustice of the same things are not available at Mom's?
Get the frick out of here.

Bottom line: only father children with women who have a similar earning potential.

I don't see what Dad's income has to do with the level of "luxury" available at Mom's house.
He should be required to pay his share (not 100%) of basic necessities while they are with Mom. If they want an XBox at Mom's house, she can buy it.

No. Kids live in 475 sq foot apartments every day. They will have access to Dad's OT Baller mansion when they go visit him.

Having a kid shouldn't become a winning lottery ticket.

No. Kids live in 475 sq foot apartments every day.

Bruh all that male privilege right there.

Somebody has to pay for shite. Better than splitting every expense every day.
Just pay for your kids. I paid child support. Hell if I wanted to deal w my ex calling me hourly telling me what my share was.

I think the judge who awarded the woman custody in that situation should probably be shot.

Having a kid shouldn't become a winning lottery ticket.
And the kid shouldn't be subject to whatever shite living that may be the case because the judge gave custody to the mother who doesn't have many means to care for and house the child while the father makes millions every month.

So who can support the child better? Dad doesn't need to make Mom rich because they had a child together.
Posted on 8/16/18 at 3:43 pm to FightinTigersDammit
quote:Sure, that's an entirely separate issue.
So who can support the child better?
But if the judge is going to give custody to the mother, the idea of her getting the absolute minimum needed to raise a child when the father is filthy rich is just silly if you actually place what's best for the child as the top priority.

If you are conflating income with a child's ability to be properly raised, then I feel sorry for any children you might have.
They should have a safe, healthy environment regardless of who they are with. They should have their basic needs met: food, clothing, medical care, school, etc.. Beyond that, it's up to either parent to provide "luxuries". If they want an Xbox at Mom's, Mom can either ask Dad to pitch in, or pay on her own. I do not believe it is a court's place to force Dad to buy Xboxes and Bicycles for Mom's house.

The dude in the OP pic is one of those guys that wants a cookie and a pat on the head for buying a pack of Pampers every three weeks and a toy truck at Christmas.
frick him.
frick him.

Prayers sent if you want to argue otherwise.
Sounds like you're actually conflating me saying that more income automatically means he'll have better parenting, which I didn't say. Are you actually trying to argue more income doesn't give you access to more opportunities?
quote:That's your opinion, and you can't possibly say you're putting the kids' priorities first in the divorce if that's your take. That's the issue with your take.
