Chevy SSR

I remember going into a Chevy dealer when those first came out. There was a line item on the sticker for, I want to say, $15,000 that was simply listed as "Demand mark-up."

I don't know what they actually sell for, but they're pretty much all listed at $30k+.

The SSR is another that has held good value over the years.

Where do y’all come up with this stuff.

Maybe a high mileage torn up one, but a nice well kept car is 25k to 30k+.

Ones near me are all listed at $30k-$40k as well.

Looks like they went for $38k-$43k originally, not adjusted for inflation, which is expensive for that time.

I’ve got a friend with a Prowler in Inca Gold.

He’s got the matching trailer for it too.

Not his, but this is the look-

I bought a Prowler at auction and quick flipped it a week later making a little money. Never even drove it. Bought a brand new SSR from a dealer going out of business for basically cost. It’d sat on the showroom for over a year. Sold it a couple weeks later to a guy in Ohio I think. This is back when I bought and sold cars for a side gig. I still do it some, but nothing like I use to.

If you mean the McDonalds one, check EBay. I’ve seen them for a little of nothing. Less than $10

Or did I misread that and you’ve never seen an actually real Prowler? If so, my bad.

Oh no lol yeah the closest I’ve ever come to one was in a McDonald’s happy meal.. sadly never seen one. I guess I just assumed that they looked really awesome but not great cars? I don’t know anything about engines or performance

It was a MOPAR parts-bin special....everything but the body was parts off other MOPARS. Radio was from a Jeep Wrangler, steering wheel and rack was from a Neon, engine was out of a Dodge intrepid, Gauge cluster from PT Cruiser, etc

The Viper was one of the sexiest car designs ever.

As it should, it was based off the Shelby Daytona.

The Viper is one of those "Never meet your Hero" situations....great car to look at however, especially the Gen II GTS.

IMO, they were meant to be more of a cool looking than performance car. Had the 3.5 V-6 and an auto. Just more or less a Mopar parts bin thrown together.

Now who remembers the Howler that had a 4.7 V-8 and a 5 speed? The concept that never became available?
