Why can’t someone tell em just don’t do illegal shite and comply with law enforcement if asked to do so? For some reason cops don’t seem to kill non criminals who abide by their orders.

People need to look at who they vote in
Who their council member is
Who their mayor is

Those are the people that set policy for their local PD
Those are the people that increase taxes but don’t offer pay incentives to attract a higher quality applicant
Those are the people who take their tax dollars to line their own pockets with pet projects & let their towns go to shite

If you want change get involved with your local city government

The most frustrating thing about the BLM movement is that it completely torpedoed a very real and widespread rebuttal of police militarization.

I watched a cop shoot a guy dead in the hallway of a hotel for trying to follow his contradictory orders, and that's the same issue that's at the heart of the Floyd situation IMO.

Getting paid $40k per year to deal with the generic lowlifes while playing with your guns attracts some pretty shitty people.

Just curious, in the case of George Floyd, do you think that cop handled the situation well? I hope you say no.

To answer your question: that’s not up to you or me. If a group of people have a cause to protest behind, they have every right to do so. I draw the line at destruction. At that point, it’s not for a cause, just chaos.

When done correctly they are very effective, i.e. the Civil Rights marches, lunch counter sit-ins, bus protest. Those protest changed America and the leaders are respected men and women.

The protest today are spitting in the face of the hard work the people of the past did

This x1000. People rely entirely too much on the federal government to make blanket policy for every department in the country. There are too many cities and towns that have their own needs in regards to law enforcement. If you want to see a real police state, give total control of the local law enforcement to the president, regardless if he’s a D or R.

Protests are a waste of time and taxpayer dollars. Why should my hard earned tax dollars go to having the police escort/patrol a bunch of idiots that no one is listening to?

This x1000.

Pure BS, while I fully agree on expecting the feds to do anything of substance is fruitless. Let's not act like any person can change things on a local level either.

People vote according to their demographics at such a high rate, that literally the demographics of the area determine who win elections. The answer is simply move to the area in which you agree with politically. This BS about elections changing things implies people actually will change their voting habits, which is overwhelmingly false.

This. I wasn’t the model citizen in college and did a lot of stupid shite. I was in altercations with cops that sometimes resulted in falsified police reports, unjustly getting my head slammed into the car door, and adding trumped up charges to some transgressions.

But here’s the deal - 1) not once did I resist arrest and just kept on doing what they said and didn’t make a scene because I knew (even in my usual altered state) that it would only lead to a worse situation and 2) not one time during any of these, no matter how little I felt I did to deserve the police getting involved, was I truly completely in the right. In EVERY case, had I been not drinking or doing something stupid (even if technically legal), I wouldn’t have been in that situation to start with. It was on me 100%. It took me a few years to get that through my head but once I did, man did it make my life quite a bit better.

More blacks are killed by blacks in Chicago every month than are killed by cops in a year.

Where is the outrage and protests for that?

Yup cops have never killed a completely innocent person and if you commit even the smallest of crimes the cop should be absolved of murder if he kills you
