And to make matters worse, the police are proving the protesters’ point by inciting violence unprovoked all over the country.
Are u fricking kidding? Unprovoked is laughable. You must only see what news edits for you. They were told multiple times to get back and go to designated area but did they comply? No. You need to open your fricking eyes because there are many protests that are peaceful where no one is hurt nor arrested but that doesn't sell. Its pretty fricking hard to meet violence with apologies and teddy bears.
And if you dont think the powers to be arent pulling the strings and organizing this stuff to create chaos to gain power, you are really blind

Because that isn't always the situation.
For instance, here in Louisville with Breonna Taylor. She was killed during a no-knock warrant that the police potentially fabricated information in order to have signed. They claimed a drug dealer was receiving packages at her address. The dealer was already in police custody and USPS and others have confirmed there's no such information that she was receiving packages for him there. They executed the no-knock warrant in the middle of the night, with no body cams on (the police chief just got fired for this happening again this week BTW), and in plain clothes. Taylor's boyfriend thought someone was breaking in and shot at them (he was legally carrying). They shot back and killed her. They then try to blame the boyfriend for her death and arrested him for attempted murder of a police officer. Those charges have since been dropped and he was released from custody.
The officers have been on paid administrative leave for almost 2 months now. With no charges filed, nor removed from their positions. Under state statute they're "protected" until the investigation is over.

The largest issue here in Louisville after the first night when it got out of hand, was that they were tear gassing protestors and shooting them with rubber bullets before any looting or rioting happened and a couple hours before the set 9 pm curfew. It just further agitated and caused chaos. That's not a narrative, it was legitimately happening. There's several videos beyond the news documenting that, including one from a State Representative that was there for the earlier rallies and were leaving the area when it happened. One of my former students got pepper sprayed walking back to her car at 7:30 pm after one of the rallies.
After criticism from the media and officials, they backed off last night. And the protests were peaceful. They caught a couple of opportunists trying to take advantage of reduced force in non-protest areas but that was it.

NRA should have teamed up with BLM with that one and really got some meaningful change in this country.

It's more than that. You're over simplifying the situation that you haven't gone thru.
George Floyd was detained without cause over a store calling in his description about a customer using a fake $20. I haven't been able to find info on what happened between the approach by cops and the detaining of GF but I don't think a description is good enough. Also, its not the spender of the fake that produces the fake. Most investigations into fakes are just asking where you got it from. 4 guys didn't need to restrain him for questioning him about a fake.
The Arbery guy was killed by 2 guys that had no business doing what they were doing. He didn't deserve to die regardless of whatever he was doing.
As a white, Christian, conservative, Trump voting southerner, I think we call all agree on those points.
I would love a black person to respond because I want a black person's thoughts on why Black on black crime isn't a mission of BLM.
Everything I've posted is with ZERO maliciousness or ill-will. If i got something wrong, respond like an adult please.

I think a major issue with police is the mental toll it takes. You see the lowest that humanity has to offer and for some its hard not to take it out on others who are not low. they don't trust anyone. I'm white and if i ask an off duty cop if he's a cop, he'd say no. Because he may have arrested me and I may want revenge. This is experience btw.
I think Police in an area need to get to know the local pop better. Really get to know them not just introductions once. Like picnics and get-togethers sponsored by the local gov. Let people spend time together and learn faces and names. People become people and not threats.

Yes. it's our constitutional right.
And those saying that "peaceful protests haven't gotten us anywhere". Nonsense. Selma? Civil Rights protests in the 60's and 70's? Women's Marches for decades? All peaceful, all caused change.

You totally missed the point. Theres too many people in our country to stop every action by anyone. Black people will continue to die by police just like white people, Brown people, etc, etc. Most of the deaths will be justified as they have always been. A small few will be senseless, just like they've always been.

I never knew so many people hated America here.

It's not the protests, it's the rioting and looting that should be stopped.

Why don’t you go out to the protests and educate them yourself, copcuck

quote:Yeah no way anyone could think the cop wasn't in the wrong there. He was screaming impossible to follow orders to a guy scared out of him mind. I don't think I've ever seen a worse handled situation by police but of course it didn't get attention because the guy shot wasn't black
I watched that too, and that was awful, from the body cam perspective when he reached to his hip though that was a split second choice of if he was grabbing a gun or not. The cop got that wrong period, and should have consequences, but watching it in a tense situation you can possibly understand the thought process

Holy shite you’re actually trying to defend the Shaver murder.
You probably think Kelly Thomas got what he deserved too.

Just curious, in the case of George Floyd, do you think that cop handled the situation well? I hope you say no.
I don’t think anyone would say yes to that question. He was arrested for it also.

Cops are killing whites and blacks... do you like stats I can give you as much as you want. I agree the brutal actions are unnecessary but it's hard to control every single one.
