How about purged and not replaced?
There is no reason for the military to have that many people. It’s just become a jobs program.

Nah, quite easy for me actually .. i was able to escape the cesspool USA for much greener pastures a while back when i saw the handwriting on the wall…. Watching my home country from afar though looks like a complete clown show .. if i was 19, or if i was 27 or something, i would be part of the “omg stay and fight !” crowd.. but i am 46, i dont know how many good years i have left so im just trying not to be absolutely miserable like most of my compatriots back home .

That would significantly decrease our lethality. What most people don't understand is the US military is a global logistics company (with an increasing IT arm) that just happens to dabble in warfighting. I don't know the other branches well but the US Army at max is 20% combat arms and maybe 60% of them will ever be in a position to close with the enemy and destroy them. There is just a small number that actually enter the battle space. The rest of the Army is the tail supporting the tooth. This is the US military's advantage. If you need a pallet of 5.56 or MREs at some god forsaken grid square on the other side of the world it will happen. In peace time it can look like a lot of people are standing around playing grabass and to a degree that is true, the E4 mafia is alive and well. However, when the SHTF pretty much every swinging dick is moving double time. An excellent example of this was the deployment to Desert Storm. It is like fire fighters, they sit on their arse a lot but you need everyone of them when called on to do their actual job.

My son is in the army and a 1/3 of his basic training class were overweight black women who couldn’t do the PT.
They were allowed to sit out and not do it. This was 3 years ago.

So am I correct that your idea is to get rid of everyone in the military who isn't a PT dog?
I will say I would love that but it just isn't practical and the reality is not everyone needs to be a max PT test scorer to effectively do their job. I was a infantry officer in a light infantry unit so our emphasis on PT and fitness was much higher than say a supply, ordnance or MI unit needs to be.

It was twice that size at the end of the cold war. After Desert Storm the Army went from 22 to 11 Divisions.
Since you seem to be an expert. How many soldiers, marines, and airmen, and do we need to adequately defend America's interests? I guess we can include the semen as well!

Miserable fricks like you are one of the reasons i decided to vote with my feet and make my home overseas… I made a trip back home to America six months ago and holy shite did everyone seem anxious and pissed off, especially the Maga crowd.. maybe ive missed out though, maybe since my last visit America has somehow gotten “Great” again…. I mean, since you fricks now have the Presidency, house & senate there really aren’t any excuses, right ?
