It's laughable that so many of you think you're irreplaceable.
Not irreplaceable, but you hear people bitch and moan all the time about poor servers.
If the server isn't that big of a deal, why is it the biggest complaint of a meal?
If you've ever waited tables, you know it's more than just sitting around and bringing the occasional plate out.
Servers aren't doctors, lawyers or CEO's, but to act like you'd put up with that shite for minimum wage is laughable.

waiters need to get off their high horse
You guys are the ones shitting on servers as peons like you're some special guest everytime you walk into a restaurant.

Most waitresses/bartenders I know usually just blow/frick an ole man that owns a company for long enough and they get an office job at his company for 60K a yr.
Please don't tell me which one YOU did.

The majority is from my pocket, your pocket, everyone's pocket but their employer and the shitty tippers.
Now tell me where it would come from if they were paid that much and we didn't tip.

because instead of making $40 per hour, they're stuck at making $30K a year.
Why not let the market pay them the $40/hr?
If they aren't worth it, the customer won't pay it.
I'm done. If any one of you don't think you should tip at a restaurant, then don't. This is ridiculous

You think Waiters pay taxes on the sales and not the income from hourly wages and tips?
I know waiters pay taxes on their sales not just hourly wages and tips, unless it's changed. When I did payroll for the company where I also waited tables, we reported hours worked at hourly wage and a % of total sales as wages earned. It may have changed, but that's how it used to be.
ETA: We did not report tips as wages earned. They used the hourly wage and sales to estimate the taxes withheld.

He's just being a troll. Just like servers think they are worth all those thousands of dollars an hour they make in tips when they really aren't, Chad thinks he's hilarious and he really isn't.

No server in their right mind is getting paid anywhere around minimum wage and still doing that job. I'm not going to sit here and say being a server is construction worker type work, but it's a hell of a lot more demanding than being the cook in the kitchen. (coming from someone who cooked and served for plenty of years in the past)

i'm going to start 1099'ing your arse on every tip and we'll see who's fricking funny in the end. bunch of tax evaders.

I honestly don't care wtf a waiter makes. They chose to be in that "profession". Secondly, when a waiter is making a flat $15 an hour, the service, from my experience, has been sub par.

but i think its come to waiters just keep expecting more and more and more
I've never heard a waiter tell me they expected more or expect to get tipped post tax.

While I don't shite on servers as peons, but I do expect to be treated like a special guest if they want me/family to come back or recommend them.
I once had the shittiest service ever and I flat out told the waitress she wasn't getting a tip and the reasons why. After the meal of course. Never complain during the meal.

Nah that's just Chad.
Every waiter I personally knew was being compensated handsomely for their efforts, so when people come in bitching about the amount people tip it seems that it is being offset and then some by great tippers in the real world.

What I just asked you before is where is the servers money going to come from if they were put on a decent salary?
Does the owner just pull that extra money out of his arse? No, he would have to increase the prices of the food and drinks to make enough revenue to pay his employees.

restaurants need consumers more than consumers need restaurants, hence one goes out of business every time you turn around.

So they had to figure out a way to get you free loaders to pay your fair share.
I assume it was calculated based on some percent of sales that closely resembled that of your tips. I promise you didn't pay income tax on the actual sales.
