Do waiters expect to get tipped post tax?

i think pre tax is the proper etiquette but i think its come to waiters just keep expecting more and more and more. I mean, is it really necessary you get paid $25-$30 on a family dinner of 4 when we probably literally took up less than 8 minutes of your actual time?

If you can't afford to tip,
eat at home

I don't think they expect it, but I tip post-tax anyway.

It's a pretty insignificant difference.

I kinda think the whole tipping thing is pretty pointless.
Why are waiters expecting tips when the rest of the working world gets a regular paycheck for doing their job?

$125-150 meal for a family of 4? Damn.
Waiters have to tip out to the bus boy, bartender, sometimes the chef so think about that as well.

I like to go back to the kitchen and order my food and then pick it up so I dont have to tip someone $8 for all that trouble

Oh hell. Here we go. Let the tards come up to debate why we shouldn't tip.

Because in almost all situations, waiters don't really get a regular paycheck, so 90%+ of their income is based on tips?

Perhaps it's because they don't make as much and rely on them as part of their salary.

erry now and then i put a buck or two down but i feel like tipping the owner of restaurant is dumb, you just got 80% off my entire order and i need to leave a dollar for you to take my CC payment and hand food to me?

When you get paid less than $3/hr you'd understand. If restaurants actually paid waiters a decent hourly wage then your trip to TX Roadhouse would cost twice as much

Sounds like a terrible career/job decision on their part. I certainly wouldnt want to reward someone for having terrible decision making skills and in doing so, discourage them from learning an actual skill.

Try and make your trolling a little less obvious in the future.

then you go to a fancy place with a $200 tab for a table of two and this waitress is cleaning house with tips and does a bunch of nothing.
