The orgin was always a mixed bag of whatever. Seemed something that there is a virology institute in the city of a virus outbreak. But saying they ate bats also seemed like it had a lot of steam. Not sure what one method over the other matters. Not like we will go after China.

Hubris is a bitch. He thought he was smarter than the politicians he worked for and when they said no gain-of-function research, he went around them. Then lied about it when Covid was released (accidentally most likely). He lied about more stuff during the pandemic and gave some awful advice while demonizing anyone who questioned him.
He got blasted in the hearing and would say nothing other than pleading the 5th which, if you have a pardon, you shouldn't do. I don't know if anything will happen to him now, but his reputation is ruined. He may well have done some good work earlier in his career, but he will be remembered for what he did and the harm he caused during Covid.
But, we will have another pandemic at some point and we need to be able to trust our medical professionals and scientists. His actions then and his refusal to tell the truth now just make that more unlikely that trust will be restored -- and that's a real problem.
As a general rule, when people start demonizing those who question "the science" those are the folks you need to be suspicious of. The scientific method gets its oxygen on questioning, not on destroying anyone who does.

I'd say 75-80% of posters here saying they didn't get the shot are full of shite. In hindsight, I would not have gotten the shot. But at the time, no one knew wtf to do really.

Take a look at what happened just last week in Germany, for example. Another Muslim drove a car into a crowd, killing several people and injuring 25+. This is the sixth or seventh media reported attack like this in that country the past several years.
During the ceremony honoring the victims, a progressive got on the mic, and openly stated they wished a white christian had committed the crimes, not one of their muslim alies.
That is the mindset you are dealing with. Even in a situation where their belief system slaps them in the face (AGAIN), even KILLING their friends, they still deny it and blame the people they hate the most.
You can't coexist with people like that.

I didn't really judge the old people, but those who were wearing them and appeared to be under 50 or so, I automatically thought "Lib".
