majority of it being on Peacock.

Exactly. I'm nostalgic about the days we gathered in front of the TV and watched this on local stations for free with very little politics mentioned. It was all about the competition and it was exciting. Now NBC is using it to sell Peacock subscriptions and it's become so politicized it's just difficult to watch.

I am NOT paying to watch the Olympics. frick NBC and Peacock.

Pretty mild.

But the Olympics don’t start until tomorrow.

Well, good news then -- I bet you've never even once seen our breakdancing pros.

I agree but, I don't have Peacock and I haven't watched a show on NBC since the NFL season ended, so I wouldn't have seen any commercials hyping the Olympics.

Back in the 80s through the early 2000s there were a lot of shows on NBC that I would watch.

sigh

I knew someone was going to do that.

They don’t officially start till tomorrow with the opening ceremonies.

But thanks for the correction that wasn’t needed.

They started letting the pro's compete and took the rags to riches stories away.

Barely any olympics coverage. Not long ago the olympics was hyped for months and months before they started and it was a "big deal" now it seems to be a yawn and meh

Go check out Rugby 7's. it's 7vs7 instead of 15vs15. This is fitting for Olympics as the games are short and entertaining. And the teams can play a match every day if necessary.

Peacock is showing the matches. And the highlights.

This ain't Soccer. In fact, Rugby is the bridge from soccer to American Football
tips:
1. Teams get 5 points for the Try(where the Football touchdown comes from), and 2 points for the conversion.
Enjoy.
2. every play is like the last play of a football game where you lateral to keep the ball alive.

When swimming and women gymnastics are going on, I feel like NBC shows nothing else.

If you have ever tried to get Olympics tix you would know why, both are a HUGE draw and don't have the seats like T&F stadiums.

When did they start needing three people to carry one torch?

I miss the days when almost all the competitors were real amateurs. You could tell by the joy shining from their eyes that it wasn't just another day at the track, swimming pool, velodrome, BB court, etc.

Salma Hayek should wear this summer outfit to carry the torch, in slow motion so she doesn’t get injured.
