It's a mega church he'll probably fund raise off it and buy a jet later.

This story goes a lot deeper than just the story in Houston twenty years ago.
That church has a proud and long history of covering up pieces of shite.

Texas age of consent is 17. He asked for a beej and she gave it. He asked her to unbutton her shirt and she did.
She is now saying she was sexually assaulted. What am I missing that connects her story of consent and her now, 20 years later, saying it was sexual assault?
He is still a douche because he was a member of the clergy in her church.

Religion is politics of the intangible. Bill Clinton had sex with a 17 year old girl. Government is the politics of the tangible.
No difference between bill Clinton and this youth pastor.

Just to make sure I am reading this right.
The sexual harassment/assault was the girl giving him head?

1) 22 and 17 - big deal
2) 20 years ago - grow up, maybe he has over the last 20 years.
3) NY Times - Slanted reporting. Maybe instead of admitting and a standing ovation, maybe it's confession and forgiveness.
4) Maybe he's sleaze, maybe not, I don't know and I'm not judging off of what I read on the internet.

The Pastor has got to be allowed to lead his flock..... out to the woods for some salvation! Don't axe no questions.

The part where he drives her to a secluded area gives you pause. He boxed her in on that. There was a saying going around when I was young for situations like this that included the phrase “feet on the street.”
She’s 17, with an authority figure, in the woods, in his car, at night. Put aside consent. No youth pastor should ever put a woman in his ministry in this situation.
The part that bothers me most is that she’d confided in him that she’d been molested before. I don’t know the man, but that looks a little exploitive on his part.

In my mind, assault means attempted battery. Battery means actual contact. So when I hear sexual assault, I think attempted/nearly done sexual bad things. It’s misleading.

I wonder if this would have gone differently had he responded to that email.
