Do most women want to upgrade their engagement ring?

Recently had my wife’s ring repaired at local jeweler and the sales lady was pressuring me to “upgrade the setting”. I told her my wife would shite a brick if I came home with a different ring, and she acted like I just didn’t know she wanted a new one...like every woman wants a new engagement ring.
It’s been almost 20 years since I gave it to her, but that’s the point right? It signifies a moment in time. Yea it’s beat up, even after polishing, but it’s still THE ring.
I asked her if she wanted a new one and she said no way, but she may just be strange.

Was the sales lady under 25 years of age?
Women think differently nowadays.

A good woman wants love, not a ring.

My wife doesn't. We could afford a nicer one now, but she loves what she has and has explicit said she never wants something different.

Can't knock the jewelery store employee who works on commission for trying....

No, she was a bit older.
She got out a loop to see if the diamond was ‘chipped’. How on earth would my wife chip a fricking diamond?

No....only the shitty ones do

My wife never came out and said it, but I'm pretty sure she was happy I got hers upgraded (diamond, not the ring). I figured she stuck with me when we were OT poor, so I should give her an upgrade now that we are OT lower/middle class

How dare that salesperson try to sell you something.

It didn’t bother me, it’s just something that seems a bit bizarre...replacing a one in a lifetime symbol of commitment.

Do women diamond fight behind closed doors?

Your skin resembles that of pickled pig's feet.

I know of a girl in my hometown that after her husband proposed they went back to the jewelry store to get a completely different ring because she didn't like the one he proposed with. This was the day after he proposed.
She also blogs so that tells you all you need to know about that count.
