My toddlers class made the same construction paper indian feather headband we all grew up with but turned them around backwards on their head and call it a turkey hat.

They do at my daughter's catholic school but she couldn't do it this year because we were in the Bahamas last week.

They did at my daughter's preschool last week for their Thanksgiving lunch when they invited parents to watch them put on a little play and sing. My daughter was a pilgrim, she has been parented appropriately.

Pilgrims yes. No native Americans mentioned at all. That would be racist. History is racist. Along with math.

Growing up in the 80's we made the paper headband and ran around the room making "ooh ooh" sound with our hands over our mouths.

Look, my Irish arse isn't offended by all the frickery that happens during St. Patrick's Day, so maybe we should just all not take this stuff so seriously.

My old church in Alabama just had their preschool Thanksgiving program yesterday. I saw pictures of all the kids dressed up as Pilgrims and Indians and they had two teepees on the stage.

People think all Irish are drunks but it's just not true. I've got two cousins in AA.

I've tried to get them to do Turks and Armenians just as a change of pace but I've made very little headway. fricking Monroe.

Oh wait that's off topic. Here in Arkansas they still have the headbands with feathers I saw a kid with one after school the other day.

How can you tell that an Irishman has been drinking?

He's awake.

My 4 year old told me to sit "criss cross applesauce" when we were playing. After demonstrating to me what the hell she meant by that I said, "Oh, you mean Indian style?" She had know idea what I was talking about. I sadly shook my head
