Seems crazy but I just had somebody tell me illegal immigrants pay income tax. How can that possibly be? I'm looking for some OT education on this.

If they work for cash under-the-table? No.

If they have (fake) ID and collect a check? Yes.

Probably depends on how they are employed.....

If they are cash only in the parking lot at Lowes then probably not.

If they are using a fake ss# and working for a landscaping business getting a paycheck then they probably are.

Yah. They register with the IRS and pay their taxes. The only negative they have is that they aren't actual citizens.

They commit 0 crimes, they pay taxes and they pay for healthcare. God bless em'.

There are three ways this can go.

1) They get an ITIN (you don't have to be legal to get an ITIN) and the ITIN is used to forward withholding taxes.

2) They use a stolen SSN/ITIN and that is used to forward withholding taxes

3) They get paid cash under the table, no taxes are withheld.

Don’t know, but those mf’ers work. They do the jobs that our entitlement culture folks won’t touch. I have a lot of respect for their work ethic and the importance they place on family.

This is correct. And considering they are unable to ever receive entitlement benefits like social security, Medicare, and Medicaid, yet they produce a very solid economic output with their work, many pay income taxes and all pay sales taxes and the like, I would say they are easily a net positive for the rest of us taxpayers.

Also, considering the declining birth rate and increasing life expectancy, I would say they are sorely needed as part of the workforce to pay for all of the retired and retiring people.

I'm very anti illegal immigration, but this just isn't true. Making shite up to aide your arguement just ruins your credibility. If they are legitimately employed (not cash under the table) they pay income tax, and every person that buys something pays sales tax.

Don't worry, all their anchor babies more than make up for what they are not receiving. Also, how about all the free medical care they receive? Can't be refused service and no way to track them to pay their bill. Thus driving up the medical costs for US citizens.

Their employer is subject to some serious fines if they don't
