My kids send me their papers to review and revise in Google Drive. Works like a charm.

And somehow these clowns earn $200,000+. They'd make another $100,000 if they would just learn how to use Office + Outlook + learn to text message.
Umm - I'm pretty good at all those things..tell me where to sign up.

Almost all of them. My phone can “talk to” my watch and they think I used to work with “Steven Jobs”

Had an old ex-oilfield engineer that was a project QC guy for field data. We're talking millions of data points. He insisted that we, in addition to collecting that data electronically, also record the very same data manually. His rationale was that if the grid went down, we still had all that backup data and we could proceed without a computer. It was fricking retarded.

I have a coworker who prints out every email then puts it in a file folder
I have bosses who do the same shite. And then want a copy in a binder so they can refer to it easily and also electronic copies in 4 different places. Ages run the gamut.

I work with a Boomer that can't even print. That is infuriating to say the least. Don't even get me started on the concept of "copy and paste".
To be fair, this isn't just age related. It's also title/tenure related. We have lots of high-level people who can't do basic functions in word, excel, etc. Pretty much figure why should they learn when they have support staff to do it for them.

That's no excuse for not having basic technological proficiency; they are just lazy assholes.

Agreed. But I'm not going to tell my boss she's a lazy a-hole, I'm just going to do my job.

Analyst position, we applied for lateral transfers to other departments because:
1. No other department would ever take her.
2. She will never get fired, so if you stay in that department you have her until retirement.
I say she will never get fired because she's done horribly out of compliance things and somehow kept her job, and then got promoted to principle analyst of the department when she doesn't know how to even do a simple pivot table.
She's an HR nightmare and goes to the same temple as the executive director.

i don't do much collaboration, so the only time i'm forced to use word is when submitting a proposed order to the bankruptcy court. they provided us a template, so i'm getting by.

I think my wife had a 7 until about a month ago. All she does is Facebook, call and text.

When playing with your balls in school was encouraged, taught, and sometimes a shared experience with the lady teacher.

I have coworkers who message me in Teams and ask if I'm free for a call. When I say yes, they ask me for my telephone number.
I want to fire these cave dwellers on the spot.

Its not as bad today, but over the years have seen a good bit of people who refused to learn how to do something a different way. They seemed to have always say the same thing "we always did it this way".
Has this older lady move into procurements on a project I was on and she would throw a fit if she had to make a change in a word document then print it out. It got to the point where everyone started doing it themselves then bring it to her so that she could add it to the log of hard copies and she threw a fit because everyone started printing it and just giving her the hand copies. This was a good 15 or so years ago
The job I had in college working in building permits and inspection department, a new inspector was hired like 2 weeks before me and there were just these two women in there who kept no electronic copy or data on permits and stages of inspection. One of the women was in the national guard and got called to service (this was late 2002, early 2003).
When I started working the inspector asked me to meet him outside before lunch and he told me he needed a better system and that the woman in there does not want to do anything to change so told me to come up with something and once I finished he will make it the official way to keep track of everything.
I created a spreadsheet that allowed us to keep track of every construction site in the parish, made and linked pdf files in the spreadsheet of the permits. It was basic shite, but when he told the woman that we would start doing it an easier way that would allow him to see the status on each project.. She stormed out and went complain to the inspector's boss that we changed up everything just to try to get her to quit because she didn't know how to do it the way the inspector wanted it done.. A week later she quit.

Yeah, I work in construction as the scheduler for my company and I can remember before I started that one of the supers would literally have a handwritten CPM schedule. I completely respect those guys as they have been building shite for 40 plus years but at the same time with the liability today, you have to be able to adapt to the times to cover your arse.
