Between work and the gym, i can barely keep my eyes open at night. I’m thankful i have yet to have this issue.

Ambien nightly for the past 15 years or so.

Generally take it around 9:30 PM unless I'm off work or sleeping late the next day. Ambien plus a Xanax, and I'm good to go. Wake up the next day around 6:00 AM and feel fine.

Have had a couple of sleepwalking incidents, and had a helluva ride a few months ago when I mistakenly took Ambien x2 and Xanax x4. But, I take/drink caffeine all day long, use Modafinil periodically, and snort the occasional line(s), so Ambien is the only way I can possibly get my body to sleep at a regular/decent time.

Jesus.

I just need something else besides Melatonin and Benadryl. Neither of them do anything for me

Melatonin

Makes me feel like a zombie the next day. Even if I take just a corner of one.

Unisom” sells as both Benadryl or Doxyalamine. The original was Doxyalamine.

Unisom Sleeptabs contain Doxy.. all the other Unisoms (Unisom Sleepgels, etc) contain
Diphenhydramine (active ingredient in Benadryl).. not sure why, it just is.

For anyone having trouble sleeping but isn’t helped by Benadryl, or has a bad reaction like i did - i highly recommend the Unisom Sleeptabs.. or to get exactly the same thing cheaper, buy Walgreens WalSom or the Costco Kirkland sleep aid.. just make sure you read the label and that the main ingredient is Doxylimine Succinate.. what i like about it is that it’s similar to Benadryl, but a slightly stronger hypnotic , and not only does it put me to sleep, but when i get up to pee, i can usually go *back* to sleep.. one pill is enough, i know some people for whom half a pill works fine; i’m 6’2” 190 lbs so your mileage may vary; on an especially stressful night i’ll take two.

Difficult falling asleep is usually the result of anxiety. Waking in the middle of the night is usually caused by depression. Do you think you have some underlying anxiety that needs attention?

Seroquel and Vistaril

I take it you’ve been to rehab before. I have, more than once and seroquel and vistoril are staples in rehab facilities. At least, that’s been my experience.

The worst thing is I blacked out those two times and took 27 more.

I woke up and looked for the bottle and found it empty.

Do you think there is any chance that you flushed them? It seems like 27 ambien would kill you. That’s just a guess though, I don’t know a thing about such matters. Not calling you a liar, by any means.

Where are you getting this information?

I can only speak for myself, but i’m a fairly well-adjusted, optimistic person.. the single biggest source of anxiety for me personally is if i cant sleep— which causes me to feel exhausted and anxious the next day.. it’s definitely a chicken/egg type of situation.. but in my case, lack of sleep comes *before* anxiety , and actually can cause anxiety.

Also, you know that anxiety and depression are intertwined, right? Not sure you can say one causes difficulty getting to sleep at 10 or 11pm, while the other causes it to be hard to get back to sleep at 3:30 or 4am after using the bathroom(?)

Do not take prescription drugs. Period. Find out what's making you stressed and get rid of it.

Not good. What's the doc say about that?

(At least you won't sleep through GOT tonight.)

Script for Xanax and meditation and everything else I’ve already tried. It eventually subsides.

I haven’t read this entire thread so if this has been mention I am sorry. Try taking CBD, I have been taking the 10mg gummies and have been sleeping like a champ with no next day grogginess. Good luck

Not until I hear about a sleep pill that actually gives you a good night's rest instead of forcing you to sleep.

yep. sleep experts (or the good ones anyway, like Matthew Walker) will tell you that there is no sleeping pill in existence that actually makes you sleep, in the truest sense of the term. You aren't conscious, but you aren't getting anything resembling real sleep from Ambien, etc.

Try lunesta or sonata before ambien, unisom is also worth a shot, and it’s OTC, the doxylamine succinate variety. Stay away from Benzos altogether, if you can.

My guess would be to try a vape shop. That’s where I found these. They don’t get you high but it relaxes you and helps you sleep.
