My mom has a GL. Nothing but problems with the air suspension. She's had to replace every air shock, some twice, and the pump twice. Her driver's window used to randomly roll halfway down, and MB couldn't figure out why. It eventually just stopped doing it

Buy her an E class if she wants a Mercedes, not some hoopty made in Alabama.
Rule to live by, only buy German cars actually made in Germany.

My dad also bitched about how much oil changes were
Borrowed my mom's for a weekend and thought I'd be nice and get her an oil change. Changed my mind after I got a quote.

Cayenne is the play here. Or a Macan S.
Cayenne is great but is probably 20k more expensive similarly equipped. The Macan S is much smaller, even smaller than the GLC.
If I were to buy a midsized luxury SUV it would probably be the Audi Q7. New BMW X5 is coming out and getting good reviews as well. Can't go wrong with mercedes but that model is pretty long in the tooth, new model is coming out in 2020

IDK, it sure as hell wasn’t German.

Tundras and Tacomas last time I checked were made in San Antonio.

The wife of my old boss had one. She had to drive an hour and a half to get the windshield replaced and it cost a thousand dollars.

Wife has a GLK and loves it. It's small but comfortable...cargo is where the size comes into play. It has a good bit of power, reliable so far, very nice interior, and plenty of nice features.
For those bitching about oil change prices, why not do it yourselves?

she's not very smart, Safelite will come to you, and insurance would cover it you only pay the deductible

They will replace with OEM if you specify and are maybe willing to pay extra. I have had cars with no aftermarket windshields available and they use OEM.

Nope my wife isn't a fan.. Plus it's too small.
Xwife got one though...
When we downsize in a year or so i doubt it will even be an option.

you can get OEM or AM, I had an OEM put in my '14 SL550, it's a $1,900 windshield I paid just the $500 deductible.
