you can get OEM or AM, I had an OEM put in my '14 SL550, it's a $1,900 windshield I paid just the $500 deductible.

WTF kind of insurance do you have that warrants that kind of deductible for glass?

what deductible do you have for comp/collision? Glass is covered under comp. I chose $500 for mine, could have chosen whatever, $100, $500, $1,000, etc.

MAINTENANCE COSTS. Check them out before you do anything.

I responded to the guy who talked about windshields because, for instance, my past two Mercedes had an in windshield traffic camera that required an OEM windshield. Put three in my car in the last two years. fricking rock trucks on I-100. $1,500 a pop. $1,000 deductible on commercial insurance policy. Work car.

The low profile z rated tires on my GL450 were $450 each and would pop every time you hit a curb. Oil change was $175 because they only warranty Mobil 1 and that engine held something like 8 quarts. The filters are stupid expensive.

Basically everything on the car costs a lot. I loved my Mercedes but have a 2019 Tahoe on order because of size and maintenance.

My wife had to have the big one, thing is a total POS, has antiquated tech on the inside. After about 18 months, she gets around to hating it. Traded it in for about 1/4th of the purchase price. She got it out of her system at least without it being a range rover I guess which is a plus.

Never again.

Mercs are one of the most overrated vehicles out there, imo, and the quality is definitely not there anymore, if it ever was really as good as it's reputation, my sister has had them for years, not impressed

I agree, but IMO Mercedes still demands a premium from the name and exterior style especially on their higher end vehicles. They still pull a premium from minorities on the used market additionally.

A lot of Europeans immigrants like them too I know a ton of Eastern Euros that drive them. Probably because of their name and what they are used to in Europe. No idea if we get the same quality in the USA as they do in Europe, probably not.

Yep. Dumb people of every race including dumb white trash think that most mercedes are created equally. They see some idiot's wife with a C Class or CLA and think that person is rich, and think they are rich for driving them.

Realtors are some of the worst at this. $40k millionaire realtors love to drive them some C Classes.

The ones on my mom's car only last like 30k miles. Doesn't matter what brand, that's how long they last

Bought my wife a 2018 GLE 350 this year. She likes it, its got room for the kids and some groceries in the back. Not as big as a Tahoe, but she didn't want that. Maintenance is ok so far. Very luxurious interior and lots of power.

If you want expensive and frequent repairs buy a Mercedes. CR rating well below Lexus! April issue of CR is the annual auto issue. Be smart and do your homework before you are sorry.
