Wife, no photographs, got me a DNA test for a weird?? Christmas gift. She also got one for herself and even one for my dog. The dogs is great because he is a mix and we will finally know what true breeds he descended from. Me on the other hand,I get a "what could possibly go wrong" vibe about it. Not so sure I want my DNA in a worldwide data base. But on the other hand, having served in the military I wouldn't be surprised if that stuff is already accessible somewhere out there. What say the OT? Yay or nay? Any of you ever had one done?

Don't do it! One day you're just having fun with the wife swabbing your cheek, and the next......you find out you're a serial killer.

One of these four will be the most likely outcome if you submit to the DNA test:

- Your wife finds out that you were a poon hound in your younger days and you have a half dozen bastard children.

- You find out that your old man was a poon hound in his younger days and you have a half dozen step siblings that you didn't know about.

- You find out that your mom was a giant whore and that you have a couple of step siblings that you didn't know about.

- You find out that your old man is your wife's actual father.

Iv done Ancestry and it has been neat to find out more about where I am from. I also did a month subscription through a deal with one of my CC and it allowed me to trace my people back to England.

Be careful. You may find out the dog is yours.

I would assume as much.

My cousin did one, not sure which. Long story short, turns out he has a half sister he didn't know about. His mother got pregnant in college long before she married my uncle. She had the baby and gave her up for adoption and never told anyone.

They've connected now and met several times. When he confronted his mom about it, she admitted to it like it was no big deal.

If these DNA outfits have done nothing else, they've really affirmed the need for probate.

Maybe not too. They aren't terribly accurate from what I read. 30% retriever, 70% indeterminate, etc.

At best you’ll find out the names of your ancestors from 300 years ago and get a genetic history % profile; pretty meh.

At worst you’ll find out about a bastard kid you have or your DNA is used to implicate your 2nd cousin as a serial killer

I was a slut in college and nailed any girl that walked.

Even if it’s .01% I don’t trust it.

A buddy of mine did the 23andMe, and found a half brother he didn't know about. Turns out, his dad was a poon hound.

There’s at least one more, you can find that your father/brother is a rapist or murderer, and they finally get brought to justice.

If the government can damn near take down a former and sitting president MULTIPLE times and make it look like his own fault, they can frame a peon like me and you. Our DNA could be planted at the scene of the next "insurrection" or anywhere for that matter.

Nobody's getting my DNA.

My 17 year old son did this and had has birth father contact him out of the blue. He knew he was adopted, but hadn't had any contact with his birth parents. Their choice, up until now, obviously. He found out he has a half sister. He exchanged a couple emails but that was the extent of it. All in all, it went better than I expected. He's a pretty mature kid. It threw him for a bit of a loop at the beginning but handled it well.
