Divorced men - how the heck do you do afford it?

We have a new neighbor, a divorcee with one kid. It's a $450k house, and she just got a brand new "deluxe suv" that sits in the garage next to a "luxury suv." She has been remodeling the house piece by piece. Today, she is clearing trees to make way for a pool.
She doesn't work. Maybe she won the lotto, but she wouldn't live here. I know what the husband does for a living, and I can't see how he can afford to live after supporting all this?
