Divoced baws of the OT. How did it go down?

Id say half of my married friends are either divorced or miserable. Of the divorced ones a couple of examples of how it went down.
- happily married for almost 10 years. Kids 8 and 6. Wife all of a sudden decides she isnt happy anymore. No real reason given. They try therapy for a few months. She then decides to bang an old college boyfriend. Divorce time.
- married for 15 years. Kids 14 and 12. After 15 years both of them arent happy and start banging other people. Divorce time.
Just seems like a modern thing, particularly with women, that if you arent happy 24/7 then something is wrong and drastic changes must be made.

Humans aren't meant to be monogamous.
Best I can tell is that it spreads from there.

I think that one was probably stewing for a long time.

Usually when the wife's mother becomes widowed the wife wants to take a bunch of her stuff and put it in her house where there isn't enough room. This causes the husband to sleep in a hotel. Yada, yada, yada, divorce.

the only one of my friends currently about to go through a divorce and it is the husband going through the whole "needs to find himself" reasons
but he has also been a SAHD for the entire marriage, so I'm sure that has something to do with it
but more likely he is just a lazy, fat, worthless oaf of a human being

Then 6 months later after getting that pussy ran through by Tinder Chads and realizing that she was just getting fricked and no one really likes her like that...she texts the husband and asks the cliched question to gauge his interest of getting back together..."Whatcha doin big head".

I think the idea that people get divorced because life isn't 100% amazing and joyful 24/7 and marriage takes work is a little overblown. People just get miserable with each other and end up hating each other so they get divorced.
If your life is made miserable by your marriage, you shouldn't stay in it because of some archaic idea that you can't get divorced. Life is short, and everyone deserves to enjoy it. It's why finding someone you're compatible with for the long term is so important. That kind of marriage makes life amazing and joyful not 100% of the time, but damn near it.

I’d be curious to know the marriages of your friends and their wives parents.

Divoced baws of the OT. How did it go down?
Told this story before, but I got home from work on a Wednesday and found a note on the door "I'm tired of living for everyone else, want to live for me", and opened the door and my house was mostly empty, furniture and all. Bank account was empty.
I was completely clueless there was an issue before that day.
Had a good friend who was my lawyer. He handled it for me, I never went to court, and he took me to lunch one day handed me an envelope with my divorce papers from the judge.

That's how people rationalize it.
The truth is that it takes two people to want a marriage to work for it to work. No matter how much one wants it without the other, it won't.

Marriage, like so many other things in our society today, is considered disposable. When things get hard or grow sour it is not worth fighting for to them so they leave and start over. The problem is nothing will ever make them happy and the new life will sour too, thus perpetuating the misery over and over again.
Marriage is not a throwaway concept. If you marry someone you have to work on it every day. If you aren't willing to fight for your marriage you should not be getting married.
