I highly doubt your average 4-12 year old even knows that Song of The South is, or any of its characters. Regardless of racial overtones, it needed to be made current with a relevant movie from this time period

Honestly, same as the stature, I could not give less of a frick. If it makes some black folks happy, then to me it’s worth it.
And as much as I enjoyed the movie as a kid, it definitely paints the relationship between slaves and slave owners in an unrealistic light. Which not sure how I feel about. There are conflicting lines of thinking to this, for me.

If something makes a noisy segment of 13% of our population happy (and it doesn’t. It only makes that noisy segment demand more) then frick it all let’s change everything.

You forgot the roadblocks in the ride where they stop it and hustle you for money and food to continue on your journey. Then it will be a legit experience.

We go the Disney every couple of years. I make it a point to get a pic with Jasmine. Jasmine never plays along. The Evil Stepmother knew I was trashed at the Plaza at the Grand Floridian once and whispered at me "you look like you're up to no good". She had me right where she wanted me.

In Africa, it’s known that traveling the highways outside major cities contain roadblocks where local PD or groups control the roads.
They shakedown travelers for money (bribes) and sometimes will detain you if you’re not able to pay. It’s a legit issue and one of the reasons you rarely hear about people traveling Africa by road (along with the actual problems of actual infrastructure, etc.).

I bet a lot still know the most famous song from the movie though...even if they don't realize that's where it comes from.
