I know a retired teacher who has been to Disney 37 times.
I also know a married couple in their thirties with 2 kids (youngest 2) who will be taking their 12th trip in their 14 years of marriage.
I live in FL so we go all the time with annual passes. My young daughter has probably been a couple dozen times already
I haven't seen a single LGBTQ+-/^2 bearded, dress wearing weirdo in any of our trips. Some "normal" looking people with pride stuff on, sure.
Its a safe, clean environment where you get service from the staff that is really unmatched. We are outside, walking, and spending time as a family.

I haven't been Disney World since I was a kid, but I'm not going to lie, I kind of want to take a trip there as an adult. Flights are super cheap from PEN to ORL too. We've been thinking about it.

Disney Adults...What an odd group.
You're right......those people are nuts. Spending untold thousands, traveling God knows how many miles, dealing with throngs of people, buying merchandise and putting it in their homes, wearing costumes and makeup, talking with other people with similar interests online and such......fricking whack jobs!
Oh, wait......

Beaching Adults...What an odd group.
Hiking Adults...What an odd group.
RV'ing Adults...What an odd group.
Football Fanatic Adults...What an odd group.
Fantasy Football Adults...What an odd group.
Don't get me wrong- I don't get it (Disney) either, and I kind of think it's strange, but I'm certainly not hating on those that love it and want to go every chance they get. I wish I had their vacation budget

A ton of adults do the around the world food/drink tour thing @ Epcot. We normally go a couple of times and grab certain things that sound really good, like last year they had these homemade pop tart things that were incredible.
Animal kingdom is pretty good, its more of a half day park.
If I were going to do a trip I'd do a day at Magic Kingdom, a day at Hollywood Studios, Epcot for a day if the festival is going on and I'm interested in it, then a half day at Animal Kingdom. If you don't really care about the festival then just do a half day at AK and half at Epcot.
I would absolutely recommend it as an adult. Even after our kids grow up we will probably go once every 5-10 years because there really is a lot to do for the adult crowd, but theres other stuff I like to do for vacation besides Disney if its just us we are thinking about.

Yep. According to the OT, Orange Beach east to Destin is trash. Then the 30A places gets their panties in a knot.

You do not find it odd that people spend thousands of dollars for 8 home games a year? What is the difference?
Football is real and Disney is make believe.
Not that I care, but there are probably better and more productive ways for people to spend their time and disposable income than both of these things but let's not pretend there's no difference between a grown adult saying "oh my God, look what P. Mahomes just did" and "oh my God, it's Cinderalla".
And we all know what the elephant in the room is. These adult Disneyphiles who never grow up carry this Peter Pan syndrome into all other aspects of their lives and they are weird and annoying to deal with in all matters unrelated to a theme park in Orlando. Your typical sports fan is just a regular guy when they aren't at the stadium or screaming at a TV in a sports bar. The Disney crowd has arrested development and it's like you are constantly dealing with someone who is a 12 year old trapped in the body of a 35 year old - which was ironically the plot of a famous Disney movie.

Some people go to the beach every year or multiple times a year.
Some people go skiing every year.
Some people go to multiple sporting events every year.
These people like to go to Disney every year.
So what

especially when the corporation behind said make-believe is pro-grooming
As F*ed up as it is, you know as well as I do there are a large number of these Disney adults that are 100% perfectly ok with this. And there is probably a certain segment that doesn't think they do enough.
We all make our compromises, its just that doing so with the Groomer corp is a very strange bargain. You are giving a corporation money to make you feel like an innocent child, while they steal child's innocence.

The part I find strange is those against the Disney Adults are not affected by the Disney Adult if they actually do not go to Disney.
I mean it's one thing to like the Disney characters in a sentimental nod to your childhood, mabye have a couple books or DVD's. It's another thing to spend thousands to visit a childrens' park when you could take your SO to the mountains, beach, europe, etc... I think adult Disney trips are "taking it too far". Would be the same if you painted your car for Star Trek or had 1000+ action figures as an adult.

Is a group of Disney adults any odder than a group of people worried about where other adults choose to have fun and spend their vacation $$$?
Yes, Disney adults are by far more strange

I know a guy who has been to over 100 LSU college football games. So strange.

I'm giving my nephew a car. I'm going to deliver it to him and go to Disney before I fly back.
I want to ride Tron and Guardians. And to me it's worth $400 for a fun day ($25 parking, $250 ticket, $125 food and concessions.

See this is what I mean. That's odd. An adult walking around Disney by himself.
Odd.
Odd.

The worst part is that many of them (at least the ones I used to see on my Facebook when that was still a thing) are Republicans.

Maybe they have a lot of Disney stock and are trying to save their retirement.
