My college days were all party.

Similar to OP, I stayed home for college, as did almost all of my friends.
For me, college was an extension of high school senior year.

Brother martin...it was ok... but I got a glimpse at a normal high school experience during katrina and after that really resented having to go there.

Even on a good day in high school, you were basically in prison

I’ll be the weird one and say high school. My college experience was kind of weird though.

Apples and Oranges isn't it?
HS is still the teenage years while the college experience is adult. Both great in their own way. But different obviously. And the decade or era of school factors into it.
I choose High School (during the 70s.)
Why?
No responsibilities. Total freedom, New discoveries. New experiences. Constant laughs. Zero noise. Zero pressure.

College by far. I was a complete weenie in high school. Still a weenie in college but at least had a social life.

College for sure. At LSU 84-87 and it was absolutely fantastic.
I am, however, in touch with my HS friends more now than my LSU friends with only 2-3 exceptions

For me college for sure. Yes I enjoyed high school and I was able to go to a good high school, but I would never go back. College, I would go back in a second.

I had great high school experience and then went to college where I knew no one. The first year was rough but I ended up having an even better college experience

This. I had a very good time in high school, but college was incredibly fun. It’s a miracle I got out in 4 years.
