When I got my drivers license at age 15 I was 5-3. I got made fun of because I was 5-3 and wore a size 10 shoe. Looked like I was on skis. When I graduated high school I was 5-9. Sophomore year of college I peaked out at 6-3.

That would be a crazy entrance to the 10 year reunion.

I was 6' by end of 8th grade and never grew again. My buddy graduated high school 5'-10" and by time he graduated college was 6'-2".

Hard to predict when that growth spurt is going to hit. Genetics are a complicated bunch.

I was almost always the tallest kid in class; never really had a growth spurt.

My mom started me in school like a year earlier than she had to so people would stop asking why I wasn’t in school.

My oldest had a huge spurt when he was 13. He came back to school a head taller than most of the boys in his class. He’s a Senior now and he is 6’4”. I’m 5’10” and my dad and father in law are shorter than me. Wife is 5’4”. Not sure where it came from.

As a kid i was short and fat.. over the course of one summer when i was 14- actually in just two months- i grew 10 or 11 inches, to my present height of 6’2”.. but i stayed the same weight, so i was nothing but skin and bones for the longest time .

I was 4’11” going into my freshman year of high school. 95 lb soaking wet with all my clothes and both shoes on.

I remember it vividly because I was able to bench press my weight in PE.

Hit my growth spurt between my junior year and topped out at 5’11”.

I wonder if all the tall kids being recruited to John Curtis-ish schools makes everyone else think their school has short kids when in reality they would have a normal distribution of heights

My son grew so fast that I had to buy him pants three times in his 8th grade year. He basically has stretch marks on his back because of how fast he grew in that year. He was 6 ft tall by the summer between 8th and 9th grade and finished off at about 61 and 1/2 to 6'2 by the end of 9th grade

I know this is slightly off topic but I think there are external factors that are causing kids to hit puberty much faster. I think chemicals in processed foods is probably the biggest catalyst bc in my experience many of the very tall kids at a young age are also overweight/obese.

Mine was the same going into middle school. He's 16 and taller than me (I'm 6') and my daughter is 14 and the top of her head is about equal to eye level. It can happen both ways, but you really won't notice it unless you actually do like a wall chart.

I have tall parents and have always been tall. My growth was gradual but I grew the most in 9th grade. By freshman year in college I had topped off at 6'5" and 1/2.

I know the OT is acutely sensitive of height, and yes, this is a brag.
