I had my first real girl friend in 7th grade but I lost my virginity New Year’s Eve/day of 1987 when I was 12 when I was in 6th. In high school I had several girl friends over the 4 years. I tend to believe this is a generationally specific question. My son dated one girl in high school and is still with her 7 years later - which I applaud. My experience was more about conquest rather than development.

Had two boyfriends in high school. One transitioned to college. Didn’t marry either. Still friends with both. Actually, still friends with all of my exes. When you can stop dating for the right reasons and still make it amicable, it’s possible. I’ve learned to appreciate the role each of them played in my life. Married to my husband for 30 years this November.

Started dating junior year. First “real” boyfriend was my senior year. We were together about 4 years.

Did not marry him.

I had a girlfriend in high school, but later on I learned I was apparently sharing her with some other friends.

First serious one in 9th grade. Had one in 10th, and one senior year.

I did well in H.S.; two long-term girlfriends. Where I lived there were two teen night clubs that were pretty fancy. Both had multiple dance floors and a couple of food options (e.g. had a pizza bar, burger bar, etc.). One of the clubs had a dance floor that lit up. There other teen club had a pirate ship motif where the had dance cages in higher parts of the "hull." City then had 5 high schools that were 5A sized and some smaller schools. So these teen clubs had kids from all over hanging out. Only saw a few fights but there was hella hooking up. Great times. I remember visiting BR in the 80s and there was a crappy teen club by Cortana and there was another off Clearview near Elmwood. My cousins took me out are there was some fighting going down. A teen club wouldn't make it now in BR of course, but probably not in P-ville or Gonzales either...people would probably get shot.

Had a girlfriend when in high school and when I graduated I enlisted in the Navy. She was still in school with 1 more year to go but wanted to get married after she graduated and I was not interested in going that route, so we parted ways.

She wound up getting married a couple years later and eventually had 5 kids with the guy. I dodged that bullet.

When you were in high school, did you have a girlfriend? How old were you when you had your first girlfriend? And did you end up marrying said girlfriend? I know we have a few female posters here, same question applies to you about boyfriends.

I had a few. Then I met a lesbian right after high school and said I could turn her straight if she went on a date with me. I moved to Phoenix for that crazy bitch and it ended badly. This was all before I was 21

I would say my first "real" girlfriend was when I was 14. I dated 3 different girls in high school. The first 2 seem to be doing well, the one I dated my senior year is a loser. Man I dodged a bullet

I regret all the time that I spent chasing tail in high school, I should have been spending that time with friends. I've more than made up for it as an adult though (the hanging out with friends part).

Yes.

2 different ones.

They are both well adjusted and attractive in their 40s. We would be fine if we ran into one another.

My current wife was at a bachelorette party for a friend. It was well behaved and I met them up afterwards. When I got there, my wife was sitting there laughing at a table alone with my ex from HS. The girl getting married graduated from the same HS as my then-girlfriend and was former roommates with my wife.

Neither of them put two and two together and somehow my wife mentioning my name never came up.

They got along swimmingly but it was an awkward moment.
