Parents were married 12 years. Brother passed and they split up. I can only imagine the friction that caused in the moment. It’s his birthday today actually. He would’ve been 29!

Mine were separated on and off but never divorced before my mom passed (separated at the time). Needless to say my dad was crushed but he had a good brother, good friends, and even in laws to lean on.

I often wonder if all of us would’ve been better off if they’d just divorced. Those were some rocky times.

I was 12 when dad had an affair with a 22 year old. Hated her at first, but have a lot of respect for how she took care of my brother and I at that age. They divorced after 7 years, now I despise his 3rd wife.

My mom remarried and is still married but he became an alcoholic and pissed away his business and house they built. He just had a stroke and that makes things even more difficult on my mom.

My mom and dad are friends and still have weird flirts on Facebook, but they'd never get back together.

My mom remarried when I was around 5 to the most amazing man I know. He is my dad.
This is why I put a lot of effort into my marriage. Obviously it’s because I love my wife also but I will not let another man raise my son.

My parents will be married 41 years June 21. I’ve never married and have finally found someone after 37 years. My brother’s marriage lasted 6 years with 3 kids involved. It makes me sick thinking about what he’s dealing with in the divorce. Feel even worse for the kids.

Parents' 42 year anniversary is tomorrow. Thank God every day for the great example they set. My wife's parents are right there with them too. Seems rare for two spouses' sets of parents to be lifelong bound. Showed us both how to be great teammates.

Nope. I was a little under 3 when they split. Last memory I have is my father throwing our Christmas tree through the picture window in the front of the house.

Yes, although they did separate for a short period when I was like 8. Everything ended up working out. Unfortunately my Dad passed at 59 from cancer. Both sets of grandparents went over 50 years of marriage before one of them passed. Now my aunts and uncles are pretty much the exact opposite lol.
