My parents are still married, and happily so. They're best friends. Sometimes they'll straight up say no to visiting or coming to events because they'd rather have a couple beers and sit on the porch at their own house.

Like damn, ok!

Glad to see it’s not just my parents. My brother and I were starting to think that they just didn’t like us very much

Mine got married in the 70s because mom got knocked up at LSU. They were like oil and water though and it was probably best they eventually got divorced.

Had they had time to date for a while I don't think they'd have ever gotten married to begin with.

Yep. My parents were married for 48 years before my father died of cancer at 67. My maternal grandparents were married for 57 years before my grandfather passed at 76. My paternal grandparents were married for 33 years before my grandfather passed at 57. None of the women ever remarried. I had no step anything's.

My parents have been married 30 years and they’re going strong. Wife’s parents split when she was 8. As much as I would like to say it isn’t the case, there is no doubt that them splitting up made it harder on her but her parents were terrible together so she understands.

Mom and Pop Rouge married in 1974. It was 4 days after Mom turned 19. Before you ask, my sis was born 13 months later.

Just hit 37th anniversary when Dad died . They would have celebrated their 46th this year.

Neither my sis nor i are married, so I guess their influence didn't take

Yes, my wife and I both have parents who are still together. I’m so grateful for that and certainly sympathize for anyone who has to go through divorce, parents and children alike.

Saw the old man twice that I remember, I am good with that. A lot of Dad's of friends filled the void. Didn't have to get the high-n-tight cut either.

No divorces anywhere in my family but the jury still out on me. 36 years wearing thin.

So far, one set of grandparents celebrated their 71st anniversary this past weekend. The other set have both passed but they were married for 55 before my grandfather passed.

Parents will celebrate 41 years this year. I have an uncle that married a divorcee but they have been married for nearly 30 years now.

None of my siblings or close cousins (of those that are married) have ever gotten divorced

Me: I’m dating a divorcee

ETA: I did have another uncle that him and his wife separated (her choice). She then committed suicide less than a year later.

I grew up with married parents but after college and a month before my wedding my parents announced they were getting a divorce. Always thought kids with divorced parents or stepparents were unusual and then I joined the club.
